Wow with the pewter finish..I was going to buy that set before I bought Vin's Sonors..only reason why I didn't was because they were pretty "beat" and I wanted to get him something that looked "nice"..I'm glad I did , I got a couple extra matching roto toms they don't make in this finish anymore..

Those are nice..my old drummer had that exact kit too..but he was a pud.

This year My dad bought Vinny a 18" Sabian crash and boom, he's already has a Sabian 16" crash, 20" Ride, 14" hi hats, a splash and a pang..

I got him a bass..I just set up last night..having fun with that!!

Ron, get a double kick pedal and start going nuts!!!

Took Vin to GC last night , he's a hit in there..they have most of the drums dismanted so you can't play while they're on the phone..but they threw him a snare and double kick to play..they love him up there..that's his gig ya know!!

Then he does a 1/2 hour meet and greet after five minutes of playing..seriously!!

I test drove 5 half stacks at GC last night..

A Peavey JSX, VHT pitbull lead, a Mesa Roadking, a Peavey XXX and Krankenstein..and finished in that exact order!!

The JSX took first prize for best metal amp and the Krankenstein finished last..very thin, noisy and well just absolutely horrible!!

Well Christmas was nice..my son is happy..he got another Sabian 18" crash, a bass that fell into my lap cheap, that I play now..a acoustic geetar..some video games..oh and Guitar Heroe II with an extra controller so we can do battle..knowing how to actually play guitar doesn't help you at all man..he's kicking my ass big time..but I'm catching up..

WE are both new at the game..lots of fun..we spent two hours dueling to "Shout at the Devil", "Mother", and "You really Got me"..Danzig's "Mother" is permanently etched into my brain..I'm getting the hang of it tho..my best score so far was 92% and his was 98%..

Guitar Heroe II is fun ...I'm not one for video games, I never play 'em, not since Atari..but this is fuggin' cool!!

I've been listening to all this kickass music lately, but have lost my desire to create my own. Sat with a guitar in my lap last night and could hardly think of anything to play. Run scales for a while, grabbed a tab book to give me something to play but there's just this underlying feeling of exhaustion. And have hardly been playing guitar lately, and so don't have the chops to play the kind of music I'm listening to. So do I resign myself to a life of listening to technically challenging music but playing classic rock?

Have been feeling run down though - I guess from a recent high pressure period at work plus all the travelling associated with work. I leave home at 5.30 & get home around 8.00, by the time I get home I just wanna have dinner and spend time with the kids, not head to the gym. I'm thinking I need to get myself back into shape, physically - maybe that'll reignite my passion for making music instead of just listening to it. Otherwise I've become just another music fan who owns a few guitars that I can't play.

Thats a long day...No wonder you don't feel like playing. I do find that being active physically and desire to play guitar go hand in hand but, you don't have many hours left in your day.

Got my youngest girl a little pink VOX amp. I have been using so it so I can sit down my lazy ass in front of the TV and go through scales n arps. Very cool little amp.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas...I fucking got called in to work at 2am Christmas day because one of my staff was sick...I had been drinkin and havin a good ol time at my Moms the next town away...Just crawled into the cozy cot and brrrrrringggg! Didn't even think my cell would get reception out there! And I only answered cuz I was thinking with my dick and thought it was Christine *Droool* That will teach me...Well...probably not LOL

I told him he better be going to the emergency...Guess he had a kidney stone...He is lucky! LOL

So yeah...That sucked.

I just stayed for a few hours but I just went home instead of going back to Moms...Just changed the plan a bit. Got the girls from their Moms and headed back to Mamas!

It all worked out.

Steve..My dad dick's is a kidney boulder Pez Dispenser..he shoots out a rock about twice a week..his plumbing must be pretty reamed out by now..he's got some that's almost twice the size of a krisped rice..He laughs and calls them his dick pearls, he collects them..he wants to make a necklace with them..as a family heirloom..

G ..FUCK, all those scales and patterns..Dude, next time your listening to some killer brand new metal that is NOT familar to you..and your getting into it..grab that riff, vibe or idea of that song before you even finish listening to it..run to your geetar and go with that energy..

Sometimes I try and copy a riff before it actually finishes, this sparks my own idea..then put my spin on it ..it usually sounds nothing like the riff I was listening to..then, boooom..I got a new riff.

Get three or four of these riffs together, within a week or so..then string them together where you think they should go or sound right..boooom you got a song..

One of my secrets..seriously!!

Eddie MUST be the most recognized mascot in all of Metal..

Eddie made be buy my first Iron Maiden album when it came out.."Killers"..man, I wore that fucker out..and learned ALL the basslines..I even had the same exact gear Steve Harris played..Peavey Mark III bass heads..

Vinny can play most of "Killers", everything except the gallop. I still remember that song note for note...I haven't played it in 20 years...that one just stuck.

Vinny wanted to show me a "slap" riff, I showed him...but he fucked it all up..BUT I can NOT duplicate what he's doing for the life of me..he inverted what I showed him somehow..and I can't do it!!

Now that's.. fucked up!!
