guys you have to try this guitar rig 2.2 software, I was amazed how good the clean and vintage tones are. It sucks for modern uber metal but for 80's stuff it's pretty badass. I got all different tones....Stones, Zep, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Ratt, Lynch, Zz Top etc. with all just one facotry setting. I didn't changed a thing, just plugged my guitar into my laptop and hit the record button.

Hi Guys!
Happy New Year! -or- Fuck the New Year, whatever your pleasure. :ROTF:
I see y'all are just as jolly as ever over here. Hope everyone is healthy and rockin'!
Let me tell ya, I'm glad the holidays are over. I love to rock and celebrate but then I like to get on with it already, ya know?
We're in our house and just about through all the boxes, which is awesome. It was a little overwhelming for awhile.
The Keith is going OCD with these boxes, all broken down and stacked by side. He's even smoothing out the paper all our shit was packed in! I think he's going through military withdrawals. You should see him now, he looks like a mountain man with crazy hair and goatee. Nice.
We got a cat!! She is a hoot too, and totally possessed. I'm her favorite. And she's a real love, all cuddly and adorable.
Here she is up in the Yule Tree. What a nut! Her name is Angel Zorya (the humane society had named her Angel, we named her Zorya after a Slavonic Goddess of the Universe. Yeah. I call her "Zory" for short.)
And here's a pic of the grand staircase in our house. It's a 131 yr. old Victorian. BillZ, you still need to send me a link to where you get all your crazy stuff for your house, man.
This is going down to the front entrance. The french doors to the right go to the main parlor/living room.
Everyone is back to work/school today, so I'm off to power up the Mesa.
Ciao!
xoxo,
Emmy

Hey sis, you can dowload the demo version here http://www.native-instruments.com/in...=guitarrig2_us
I recorded this clip with the demo.
I used a factory preset called Bad Plexi Solo, it's under the Metal and Hi-Gain tones section.
This set-up has a Cat pedal (ProCo Rat) -> Plex head (Marshall Plexi) - British 4x12 cab and off axis mic placement - >Quad Delay -> Studio Reverb
I use this preset for everything from AC/DC to George Lynch tones."There is nothing more fearful than imagination without taste" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

so i got this nasty ringing in my right ear since new years eve - dead on G# by the way -, and today i went to the doctor having it checked out as i was very worried about a potential tinitus....
well, apparently my hearing is not damaged (thank god for that). in fact, my sense of hearing is way above the average level seriously, with all these super loud shows and band rehearsals without any ear protection i was not quite expecting to have a set of kickass ears.
as for the ringing, well, the doc said it either goes away or it doesn't. i got some medicine to improve the circulation in my inner ears, so the ear irritation that caused the ringing goes away faster/better, but other than that i'll just have to sit it out. i mean, this isn't the first time my ears were ringing after e.g. a show or whatever, but never this loud nor this long....that's why i was so worried in the first place.
btw, he said that i COULD get some heavy medication (and other ear specialists probably would do just that), but according to his opinion the potential side effects of this heavy stuff might become more dangerous/inconvenient than the ringing per se.
well, guess i lucked out i learned my lesson, thats for sure

I've used earphones for 25 years when playing live, and at 48 I can still hear!
Em, beautiful house, and beautiful kitty cat too! She looks like my old Budger cat, may he RIP! Glad y'all are in the house, and kudos to the Keith for the mountain man look. He can compromise on missing the USAF by starting his own militia, eh? Well.... maybe not. Jones Family Militia, at least!Ron is the MAN!!!!

Steve Lukather has had a very loud ringing in his ears for about 20 years and it's because of the headphones.
My musical hearing is top notch but I'm almost deaf
btw. G# is cool, Eruption is in G#Last edited by Endrik; 01-02-2007, 01:21 PM."There is nothing more fearful than imagination without taste" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
