1 million $ question: how do you convince an extraordinary stubborn and oldfashioned father that you honestly love his daughter and won't under any circumstances cause her any harm whatsoever?

this is ridiculous. that guy's constantly trying to hook her up with anybody who seems to be "fitting" (in this case meaning that he and the parents of the one in question are friends), but on the other hand doesn't quite like to see the two of us going out even though we're both serious about this.
the facts that a) i'm not "some guy" from another town, but live in the same village b) he somewhat knows (even though they are not friends as of right now) my parents and knows that they have a good reputation (small village you know) even though i don't quite see why this would be of any importance c) most importantly, i'm close friends with several of his relatives (including his younger brothers, his son, and even HIS mother!), all this does not exactly help with making the whole situation more comprehensible.

now, if she was 18 (legal age in germany) there would be zero trouble about this (especially due to the fact that she would have moved out by then, no question about that), but unfortuantely there's still one year to go...

btw, to make this clear, "officially" we're not a couple yet, although de facto we are. so far all HE knows is that we're...um..interested the main issue is that she kinda has to sneak out under false pretenses so that we can meet each other. luckily his brothers are with us on this one, so most of the time she's like "i'll go and visit ...." you know.
strangely enough it's NO problem for me to go visit her, he's fine with that. but then again, this is not exactly the kind of "setting" that we want to be in

He KNOWS what you want, you horny metalhead you!!! He has not adjusted to the idea of some guy fucking his sweet innocent daughter, and if she's with a metal musician it's more blatant to him that this will happen, than if the guy is some bland athlete or nerd.

Of course those distinctions really DON'T make much difference, but it's not easy for dads when their daughters grow up and some are irrational. I think it's inportant that you show him respect and put up with his BS as much as you can without letting go of your girl. He will appreciate it later when the dust has settled, and so will she.

i mean, sure, i have my faults....as you said, metal musician, long hair, like to drink beer. on the other hand, i'm definitely not somebody to do things just for the sake of doing them. i like to think of myself as mature enough to not feel the need to impress anybody by doing stupid shit (i DO want to impress folks with my guitar playing, of course ). hell, provided that there won't be any major incidents in the course of this year i'll study law for gods sake, doesn't that at least give me SOME credibility.

let me tell you something....this guy, he has three children, 2 sons and this one daughter. the oldest son and her are TOTALLY controlled by him. i mean, think about it, when i was 17/ almost 18 (just the age of his oldest son) i went on an EUROPEAN TOUR, that's 4 weeks of heavy drinking, drug abuse (i personally didn't do that, but there were lots of guys who did), groupies...you know the drill; his son on the other hand isn't even allowed to go to a friends party. same thing goes for his daughter as you might have guessed by now.
the youngest son (15 by the end of february) on the other hand does everything...drinking, smoking (pot as well as normal stuff), even theft and burglary! think about that....

Fragle , bro you just took me back to april 26th of 1984..the day I met my wife. I just turned 20 ..my birthday was the day before. Valerie just turned 16..oh boy that's a long story. Her old man HATED me at first..it didn't help that I was 20 and pulled up in my Chevy Van with a shag carpeted bed..a motel on Mag wheels. Well, too make a long story short, I REALLY wanted Val..I wasn't that different back then..a pretty balssy Italian kid who get's what he wants..even if he had to brown nose , kiss ass and maniplute to get it.

Every girl before Val was older than me and always appraoched me. I NEVER once approached a girl for a date in my life..they always asked me..or their mom's did..this is true and Val even knows some of them. Val was the only younger girl I ever went or went after like a mad dog.

She was by far the cutest thing I have ever dated , or ever seen at that time..I had to have her..and gave her my best charm. I snagged her hard..we were in love..her mom was OK with it..she's Sicilian, and I was a nice Italian boy, well to her I was..

Her dad, that was a obstacle..but as he got to know me I earned his trust and respect. In fact he would come to me instaed of his two oder sons for help because he knew I was loyal and capable..that was before I became a cop. By the time I became a cop..he could be more proud to parade me around to all his Borats..this is no joke..he used to sponser many Romanains to come here...and they all had great respect for me and really like me..I was golden at that point..

When he passed away in October of 2000, I got the call from work..The whole family was there. I was the only one in the bedroom with the funeral directers..because I was in uniform they thought I was there on biz not knowing that was my father-in-law and was going to take him out half naked and uncovered to their wagon..I yelled what the fuck are you doing. They just looked surprised..I said "That's my father in law, his whole family is out there"..I pulled the sheet from the bed and said.."wrap him up with this"..I close his eyes before they did.

We ceratainly didn't start on the right foot and that's understandable in hindsight. Being a protective father , now that my son is 12 going on 21. Fuch fragle if that was my daughter I would truly show you the meaning of a crazy prick..fuck, I couldn't even imagine how I would be if I had a daughter..My wife's father certainly handled that situation better than I ever could and that involved me..I would kicked my ass, he knew I was a wolf instantly!!!

We didn't get off on the right foot..but I became his right arm whenever the shit hit the fan..If you really love and respect this girl..win him over, give the respect he deserves, give him his due..you don't have to take bullshit, I didn't..but just be honest. Alot of Eupoeans are very old fasioned..just like Dagos and shit..they all got married when they were 16, 17, 18..fuck my great grandma had her first kid while in Italy when she was 13. But that doesn't mater..just like that saying "do I as I say , not as I do'..well it's that's kinda thing.

I really thought that guys was a major asshole back then, but he wasn't..just a loving dad..that's his job..the best thing in your favor in patience, repect and time..with that..you main gain his trust even tho you're lying thru your teeth..

well...
i found out a couple days ago that my girlfriend of 4 years cheated on me for the last 6 months.

good that i dont know the guy and that she's living in istanbul now, or i'd be typing this from jail, charged with two fold cold blooded murder.


but since then i met 4 girls and already went smooching with one, and going out tomorrow with an old friend of mine, so life = good... i also got about 5k from my savings to burn on gear... so it's even better.
if it goes on like this, i'll have about 15 dads on my tail till saturday hahaha
