Hey Cleveland area metal guys. Are you familiar with a prog metalish band called Arena? Did Ripper Owens ever sing for this band?

There's currently a band called Dark Arena, that is proggish. And Tim never sang for them. But, we all know each other tho.

this is the second time Arena have been mentioned here lately. Made me pop the Contagious EP on. It's the only Arena CD I own, and I didn't really get it when I first picked it up. But I discovered today it's great to put on when I'm doing other things. Good background noise.

I found Dark Arena, but this should be just plain ole Arena. I got an email from a bass player living here who says they were based out of Cleveland area. He says Tim Owens was singing for them just before he joined Priest. The guy drops a lot of names which makes me immediately suspect a bullshit artist. Also says they have opened for Maiden, Priest, Kind Diamond, Nevermore.
If the song he sent me is to be believed the guy has some really good chops. His name is Chris.

I sorta remembered that name, and I asked them and yes, they used to be just Arena. 10-12 years ago and changed to dark Arena cuz a national act was already called Arena. And Tim was a friend of all of us, and sang a bit with them in a away but no recording with him were released unless it was a jam or something.

Haha! I just found a picture of Bill with Attaxe on Juan's website. I found the guy via this page http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=44615 they used to spell Arena with an H on the end, his name is Chris Thomas. They have him listed as a former Dark Arena member also.
