I recently came to a great realization. I spent a lot of time for the last couple months or so reading up on Black Metal. I read stuff from anus.com, www.fmp666.com, and some other black metal boards. You know, where all the "smart", "trOO", and "kvlt" metal heads are. I wanted to finally get a handle on all this black metal ideology crap, and finally figure out what true black metal is. Then something happened, I felt like listening to some Dimmu Borgir. I also felt like listening to Satyricons Volcano, you know, his "sellout" album. After that I just stopped caring.

I guess my point is this: there is no "trOO" black metal. There never was, just like jazz, death metal, classical, etc. It's a style that evolved from something else, and is continuing to evolve.

Yeah you're right ..Black metal / Death / Power metal / Thrash ..whatever .

Genres don't mean crap ..good music is good music ..the whole reason behind my list that I'm compiling . Like I said when I'm done with this one I will compile another liste of more extreme metal ..they will all be included if I feel it's worthy.

I want to show Power / Prog metal fans that Death / Black metal is every bit the calibre that they claim to be theirs and visa versa..

For example The musical calibre of Dream Theatre / Iced Earth / Gamma Ray is equal to and NOT superior to the likes of bands such as Darkane / Emperor / Coroner..

I've been listening to this unsigned Doom Band recently called Forest of Shadows and they are so good. I cannot believe they aren't on Nuclear Blast or something. Really good stuff.

Cool ...I was once in a forest of shadows...I was young and very high ....I could have sworn I seen a dark shadow darting from tree to tree..very fast.

well It was actually in a cemetary I used to party at when I was young ...I still could have swear I saw that shadow ...but I don't believe in such superstitions ...so I just wrote it off as some pretty good weed! [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
