That's not really true. In the strictest of sense, the way it's layed out in the Bible... sure. But, the world's most respected theoretical physicist, Stephen Hawkings, tends to believe that everything couldn't have happened without some kind of divine intervention. His belief is based on scientific theory, not from a learned fear of God.
Personally, I don't believe... but proof there is no god?
