I finally found a Masterplan CD in the stores here. The first one. But I'm not dropping $40 on it (import only). I'll keep looking.

Hmmm, new Aussie metal. I believe you already have the latest from Dungeon. That's a good'un.

The new Eyefear is good. They're a prog metal band out of Melbourne.

Don't know if you ever checked out Daysend. They're pretty good. Thrashy/deathy sort of band. Clean vox, harsh vox, some decent guitar, hot chick bassist, they can be pretty diverse although they do occasionally get a little "nu".

I've been listening to a band called Tourettes lately. Similarly diverse sound to Daysend, a little punkish at times, and sometimes a little too "nu" for my tastes, but good if I'm in the mood.

Other than that, the stuff that has been turning me on lately is generally stuff I've picked up courtesy of the JCF - Nevermore is the benchmark by which I judge all bands' new material. Makes it hard for me to get into a lot of bands now [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

Have you checked out Demons and Wizards yet? http://www.demons-wizards.com/ I'm enjoying their album.

Yes I just picked up that last Dungeon..I like it very much..

I don't have Eyefear yet...I know it's prog metal...what label is that on, and is it aggressive or pretty keyboardy and a laid back...I like really aggressive prog metal...like the last Eldritch from Italy..

There is a new band calle Communic on nuclaer balst that do the Nevermore style...not bad...it's not nevermore...but I admit that it's not bad..

Did you ever get the last Brainstorm..liquid monster...that you'd like...I like all Brainstorm.

I remebered you mentioned Eyefear...

Century Nedia has Masterpaln ..the first one..the second one will be relaased domesticaly in september...so you should be able to find it about then..it's actually better than the first...and that was great!

there is a cool prog band called Moonlight Agony on nightmare records.that is pretty cool..I just got that...good stuff..pretty agressive prog metal with a very good singer..

we'll talk more ..think of some really agressive new powermetal that kills if you can..like these if you haven't check out yet...Rising Faith , Black Majesty , Rawhead rex you already know.., check out a spanish band called Easy Rider.."regeneration"..very good.

Got the new demons and wizards..cool!

I was going to mention Black Majesty. I really dig 'em, still haven't picked up their new album yet.

Haven't tracked down any Easy Rider, although I did find a couple of mp3s when you first recommended them. They are good, good enough that I've kept an eye out for them when I'm CD shopping. No luck so far.


I'll definitely have to check out Moonlight Agony. I don't listen to a lot of prog metal, mainly because it's usually just not agressive enough for my tastes.
