Hey guys , checkin in to say I been listening to alot of brand new music..
Besisdes my faves like Opeth , Nevermore..
I'll give Nevermore a rest I heard that for two weeks straight.. [img]/images/graemlins/what.gif[/img]
Crystal Eyes "confessions of thy maker"..better than their last but not a good as their first two. Very upbeat , highly polished power metal along the lines of Lost Horizon..good stuff..if you like Power metal.
Cusus Belli "in the name of rose"..kick me in the ass..one of the best new guitarist on the scene..he's a "newbie" on the scene..20 years of woodshedding finaly paid off I guess..great stuff
Overlorde "return of the giant snow beast"..Bobby Lucas of Seven Witches..lame..very lame..B grade , local metal calibre..I was looking forward to this because ..his work with the band Exhibition was very good...this sounds like chezzy 80's metal..Octber 31 members..I should have known..I'd rather spent the 12 bucks on something better.
StarBreaker S/T ..a super group effort on Frontiers label..I had this for a while..but really had a chance to listen to it..Tony Harnell (TNT) Shred monster Magnus Karlsson (last tribe , midnight sin) Farizio Grossi (Steve Vai and John Malcaluso (ark , yngwie) ..well If you like melodic , light , 80's based metal such as TNT..this will be a "No Brainer" ..Not hard and Heavy as it it polished..Tony Harnell is in fine form and so is Magnus..actually everyone gets to flex their musician muscles on this ..Solos a plenty including bass and drumms..the songs are catchy ass anything Harnell does..it took a few listens for it to grow on me..I usualy like my metal a little heavier..but this is very good...I always loved Karlsson the guy is one of the best..but that guy in Cusus Belli..is right there.
Dungeon "One Step Beyong" their second from this Aussie band..and a better one than their forst ..and I think their debut was great..this is more the type of power metal that I prefer..very aggressive , great vocals and lots of shred a plenty..this I like..LMB records!!
Godiva "call me under 666" LMB records..back on with with a new singer ..ex Vicory singer Fernado Garcia..I'm not diggin' this all too much..it's OK ..never was a fan of Garcia's voice..he sounds smiliar to their first singer but that dude had a style that fit this band better..the songs are predicible , and not very clever..the production , artwork is top notch..and there are a couple of decent tunes on it..but I could have done without this...their debut was much better.. IMO.
Dragonland..Starfall..very , highly polished , up beat european powermetal with eneough aggression and energy to make me happy..awesome guitaris ond voclas..their last two were on Black Lotus and they were more like a Rhasody clone..that changed somewhat..more straught forward..fans of Sonta Artica would Love this.
Beyond Twilight.."section X" Massacre records..Very cool conceptial epic drak , progressive metal..with new singer Kelly Carpenter who replaced Vocal God Jorne Lande..and yes this guy can hold his own..he is difinitely quirky at times..fitting for the music..cool concpts..and the playing and writing is stellar..there is a couple times where the album loses momentum..but worth my money..very cool!
Eternal Reign "Forbidden Path"..agressive melodic Power metal..very good..man there is so many good bands coming out of the woodwork ..I can hardly keep up.this is very good and I couldn't belive when I heard a cover of my Homies , Cleveland's Breaker..they do a cool version of Ten seconds in..that was a surprise..I'm sure the Breaker guys feel honored..I would!
Freedon Call "the circle of life..SPV..this is their forth studio and their best..any fan or helloween or Gamma Ray..would eat this up ..these guys are a cut above alot of power metal bands..very high calibre as Iron Savior , Mob Rules and the like..

OK I'll give you one ..
Hypocrisy "Virus" on Nuclear Blast is fucking Killer and the best to date IMO..they really kicked this shit in the ass..much more aggessive and fastre tunes ..more in common with older inflames / Soilwork that classic Hypocrisy..seems that Peter and gang picked yop the Ball that Inflames and Soilwork dropped since their popularity grew in the States..
Why do awesome bands that get popular here change their formula and style and who they are..we liked them for who they are..not what they "think" we want them to be..I want my old soilwork and inflames back..those dickheads! [img]/images/graemlins/eyes.gif[/img]
Hey guys get a clue..nobody gives a fuck about Korn anymore in the "metal" community and selling out won't help you...stay who you are like your bro Darkane and speaking of which!!!
Darkane "layers of lies"..Excatly..Soilwork and In Flames please take note..you can be a little more dynamic with clean vocals and stuff without being "gay"..this is what you guys should be doing..No "Korn-like" samples BS and gayness here...listen and learn..I hope thes guys burry your asses here eventually..because they are kicking your ass BIG TIME!!!
