I'll have John post the whole demo for downloadin..Sarj wrote me wanting a copy of this stuff..but all it is is a disc basement demo..no artwork or nothin'..

Hey guys..I have yet picked that DT up..waiting to get it used..I will...just a matter of time...all my friends complained about that one..and their huge DT "prog" nuts.

I never had to buy a new dT album in my life..seriously..they're are hordes of used places around here..and the DT stuff is fairly easy to come by...I'll get it. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Still haven't bought the last Black Labael Society "mafia" yet either still waiting for a used one of those to pop up too..

Okay, here is my little Dream Theater snippet review on their latest record.

"Octavarium" has it's gay moments that is definitely for sure. I don't think it's possible to have a prog record that doesn't have some gayness on it. The second track "The Answer Lies Within" made me nauseated. [img]/images/graemlins/sick.gif[/img]

But I'll tell ya, this overall album is absolutely excellent. The guitar work alone is astounding.
My fav tracks: "These Walls", "Panic Attack" and "Sacrificed Sons" was particularly moving.

The last epic song "Octavarium" has five movements and is 24 minutes long! [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]
The opening is really cool, vocals don't start until about 5 minutes in. The first three movements are a bit gay... but HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!
About 16:45 minutes in it fucking FLIES! It just does not let up. I love the little acoustic ditty part. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
You get all in a frenzy and then they take you into a breakdown (how evil). The devil vocals rule and the guitars get down and dirty, very awesome.
Ward is right about the ending, it is incredible. [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img] An orgasm for a prog nut.

well, one thing. i'm a dream theater FANATIC...i have every single album they ever did....scenes from a memory being their masterpiece imho (although images and words is a very very close second).
i also liked train of thought after a while....i had to get used to it.

octavarium SUCKS. i mean, "these walls" is a note for note linkin park (!) ripoff. the only halfway decent song is panic attack, but even that one is killed by the stupid lyrics imho..."....by this complex delirium"...yeah, what he said. John and Bill definitely pull the metal award over "Octavarium", that is for sure. I still enjoy the album, there are some REALLY gay parts though. They made me giggle. Enjoyable. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

em, i have a mp3 on my pc that has the linkin park song on the left channel and dt on the right...i swear the chord progression is EXACTLY the same. if my webhost allowed me to upload more than 1mb at a time i'd post it here (it's 4mb btw)
