• Re: Bill\'s Place

That's a KILLER song off the Juggernaught album. I love the title track..that's the only song I ever heard Frank do tapping ala EVH..he recorded that back in 81. I bought all four releases from the 80's on Black Rose records ..

Power Of Rock N Roll
What's Next
Juggernaught
Full Cirlce..

his last stuido "Eye of the Storm" has much less "blazing" on it and is pretty laid back ..but very kick ass!!

I just put Juggenaught on..so we are listening to this at the same time!!

Midnight Highway is on now..

One of my very favorite "guitar" albums of all time is the 1978 Mahogany Rush LIVE album..it's just a non stop ass whoopin'!!!

You can tell Zakk listened to alot of this stuff too!!

Well I listened to all of Juggernaught..so I got my Marino fix..

Yes Marty was THE only one I ever saw that gave props to Uli too..I remeber an interview right when he joined Megadeth that there was this dude in the neighborhood that nailed Sails Of Charon..and that kicked him in the ass as a player..then shortly afterwards he was nailing it.

I would love to hear him cover some Uli . I like James Murphy's version on the best of Testament , he does it pretty "true to form"..

Unlike Yngwie who just basically overplays and shits all over it on his "inspirtation" , ..IMO..It's OK.

You don't have to overplay a tune like Sails of Charon..it's quite busy already..the song and riffs have a certain "feel" to it..it shouldn't be fucked with...otherwise it's "butchered" to me.

Uli Jon Roth + Frank Marino = the ultimate rock guitarists.

Both of them influenced most of the 80's guitar heroes and that is a fact. Marty is the only one who says all the time that they kick ass. I remember that John Sykes has mentioned Uli as his influence, that was a couple of years ago in Eddie Trunk's show. Steve Vai mentioned both of them in one of his mid 90's interviews.

You throw the word 'ultimate' around a lot, Endrik.

Let's just say there are plenty of mindblowing guitarists, 'ultimate' will lose its special connotation if you overuse it.
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Bill, to you and me 25 is robbing the cradle; to this youngster it's closer to ashton and Demi!

There ya go! Demi's like 15 years older than Ashton Kutcher, do you think he cares? Hell, he'll give her 20 good years (she'll STILL be hot at 60!) then he'll be like my age and go get HIM a 25-year-old! She'll grab a 35-year-old and everyone will be happy!
