    I enjoyed the movie for the reason that this very subject was brought into a court of law. I found that very interesting. I was surprised, I didn't know the story of Emily Rose and I wasn't expecting this to be a John Grisham kinda thang... but whatever.
    I totally see your point, Bill, and I wondered the same thing. I don't agree with our current system of having to swear upon a Bible, I think it's totally ridiculous. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
    But some people really believe in it.
    If I had to swear to tell the truth over my cuppa coffee I would take that WAY more seriously than a storybook.
    But that's just a me. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

    My FAVORITE part of the movie was when the defense brought in that lady who had done scientific research on this very thing. She was COOL.
    I thought that the prosecuting attorney was a total dick. But, I agreed with his point.

        Yes that lady was Cool..and they prosecution tried to make her look like a hokey witchdoctor, which she totaly made him look like a tool with her vast knowldege on the matter..

        But as soon as I heard the prosecurer state.."I am a man of faith"...she stated.."well you're a man of faith and I'm a woman of doubt"..but that was it.. [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img]

        He GAVE her a open right there, and she did NOT run with it...I don't know why..it's the most blatantly obvious...not including the beliefs of the majority of the jury.

        I would have immediately asked the judge if I could drill him on that statement alone..ALL court documenys disclosed can be debated...especially a matter of "faith" in a trial that is Medical VS Supernatural..

        I would have put him on the stand right then and there...OR confront him on the spot. I would say can you repeat that..you are a man of faith???!!..faith in what....God..

        So, you believe in God..then you believe in the bible and also the word of God..therefore you DO believe in Satan...or an advasary of God..am I correct...therfore reasonable doubt??

          I didn't even finish the movie it sucked so bad. Started watching it last night and turned it off about 45 minutes in. Watched Sleepy Hollow instead.
          Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

              Sleepy Hollow Rules..

              One of the best "true" CLASSIC horrors in the last 20 years or so..IMO.

              I was about 45 minutes into Emily Rose when Val and Vin fell asleep..So I watched the rest of the sucky movie all by my lonesome..

              There are so many holes in it..it's ridiculous..but I had to watch the rest! [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

              OH BTW...All the "cool" parts of the movie..looked like a typical Cradle Of Filth Video...actually COF vids are BETTER! [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

                    Looks like I'll be pretty tied up with Vin's wrestling till the end of the month...then I'll have ALL my spare time back..until next season.

                    Things are going cool as expected...I'm pretty bummed over the price of natural gas and the cost of living in general lately...it seems they use every angle for an excuse to gouge your ass...The War , Katrina..all the fuggin' hurricanes..The tsunami , the earthquake , feeding Africa and blah blah blah ...I understand that cost alot of money to "re-build and to assist" and it's the right thing to do I suppose, especially when taking care of OUR own..but things are just going thru the fucking roof man...there MUST be a ceiling somewhere..I would surely hope!

                    I don't trust people in general anywhoo..certainly not those who handle our money...

                    It's hard to be optimistic about a "new year"...all it tells me is that things will be even higher than last year..except for our paychecks.

                    I would like to blame it on the poor who use all these services withouth having to pay for them or taxes...someone has to pay for them...and that is the middle class..basically most of us I assume.

                    The poor and the rich don't have much to worry about...it's the middle class workin' man (if he has a job nowadays) who gets it in the ass..

                    All I know is for the last few months or so I haven't saved any money and been wadding one hundred dollar bills and throwing them over my shoulder ....I don't even know where it's going....I was ALWAYS able to save money...not lately...not at all! [img]/images/graemlins/eviltongue.gif[/img]

                    I think a 500-600$$$ gas bill in the winter time is fucking ridiculous...especially when I'm always cold..The thermostat is set at 61-62 degress during the day and 59-60 at night..and I still have to pay 500 a month in the winter months..WTF???!! [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

                    Health care ..I remember the days when I NEVER had to pay a bill...now I pay high premiums , Co-pays and deductibles ...and now my PPO don't even cover a simple routine check up...WTF???!! [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]
