Re: Do you like this new format? Yes or No

My only beef with the new boards is that I dont see as many topics as I used to. It was nice to able to scroll down to page to see if u missed anything durring the day/week and not having to go through the pages (crappy connection here )

I getting used to it ....I'm just happy I got my couple graemlins workin'..

But I still want my Bill Z Bub goo shootin' graemlin ....that would be very practical and helpful to most of us here...IMO

      Respectfully,

Yes, the new format is better, except for the,:

"Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in w:\inetpub\wwwroot\jcf\jcfonline\www\ubbthreads\te mplates\default\showflat.tmpl on line 240",

thing I get every now and then when pages are loading up and all. Also, I wish that instead of showing all the replies (ex: Re: quick reply box... ) to a topic when viewing recent posts and all, it would just show the topic and who replied to the topic like on the old board. I wish the view "Active Topics" thing was back, where it just showed you one topic, who was the most recent poster to that topic, and the date/time that they replied to that topic, instead of showing like "Re:" to the same topic like 5 times on a page. Anyways, I like the new board a lot, it's just going to take some time to get used to.

My only gripe was the graemlins, especially the harelip guy . Creeped me right the hell out. Now all the old favs are back, with some cool new ones. One question: are URLs no longer possible in sigs? Just noticed that a few people don't have 'em anymore.

Didn`t like it at all first, but I think you get used to most things after a while. There are some improvements, but also some drawbacks. Like me becoming a junior again

You can change the number of posts that you can view. Click on "My Home" up at the top click on the "Edit" for display preferences. Then, about 3/4 down you'll see "Total parent posts to show per page: (default is 20)" or "Total posts to show on one page when viewing a post in flat mode (default is 20)", change the values of them. Scroll a little farther down and then click "Submit".

I have this same exact problem. It seems that many of the members say that it takes a shorter amount of time to load the pages, yet for me, it takes much longer now. I've also noticed that when I click on a topic that contain pictures in it, it loads them first before I actually see the page. In other words, before the forum change, when I clicked on a topic, I would get the page and all the text along with it and THEN the pics would load. Very odd, I wonder if I can change something in "My Home" area. I don't see anything though...

it's pretty good i think , but I'm missing the "posts since last visite"-function , maybe I'm just missing it

oh and the quick reply rules (so does the spell check)

I really starting to like it. I really like the feature telling how many new posts are in a thread.

Yeah, its just like Guitars101 forum. Is that where the idea came from?

This is the exact version of BB with some modifications (photoalbum) but with different color scheme. I think this one reads a lot better than JCF. That's just me...

What is "Flat mode"? I've read that a few times here but I don't know what it means... sorry if this is a stupid question but never heard that term before.

Nope, never been there. Flat mode is the default forum style, rather than threaded, which is a treed view.
