    Re: Red Sox Fans #2

Actually I think it is a good three way trade for all teams AZ needs prospects Cubs need a SS and Boston's pitching would be bad A. All they would need is the wildcard because the pitching would pull them through in the playoffs... Waht if Boston landed The Rocket and Randy

Yeah but if you recall the pitching lineup was enticing before spring training began as well. But look where we are now. I'm not saying RJ wouldn't be great. But your going to replace Nomar's hitting with a 230 SS? I love Pokey but a hitter he isn't. Get rid of Millar also and score Delgado for first and maybe that would make up for the difference in bats. Millar blows dead bear at first. He couldn't dig a worm out of the dirt, to catch a fish with, if he was dying of starvation. And how many times has one of the best pitching teams in baseball missed out on a championship because of the lack of bats. I sure don't want to become pitcher heavy and have to rename the team the "Athletics East".

I guess it depends on what Management thinks if they think Nomar has any gas left in the tank or will pitching be more important than Normar.

It is all no consequence though you all chall be staring up at the white sox... Who are even reported to be interested in renting Beltran for the rest of the year

Good point, Soloist but the A's haven't had an Ortiz, Manny, Muellar, and a Nixon (and at times a Veritek) to go with their pitching.

A lot of variables bro. If all those bats woke up and stayed that way our current starting pitching would probably be where it was predicted to be at the beginning of the season. Can't really blame Schilling, Pedro or Arroyo for bad outtings this season. Because there really haven't been many. I'm not sure what isn't working for Wake lately but he's still been pretty solid. Lowe is a huge disappointment. Great spring training, then he falls right the hell apart. If he could get to last years post season form that would be huge.

what do you think of this junk i just got e-mailed to me-

By RONALD BROUM, AP Sports Writer
                    July 14, 2004
HOUSTON (AP) -- The New York Yankees were expected to announce early Thursday morning that the framework for a deal with the Arizona Diamonbacks was in place, that would bring Randy Johnson to the Bronx. Final details of the transaction, which is said to include Yankees pitcher Jon Lieber and top prospect Dioner Navarro, were still being worked out.
While any such announcement would be welcome news to the fans of the Yankees, it could prove devastating to fans of archrival Boston. Fans there have tossed about many trade rumors recently, many involving disgruntled shortstop Nomar Garciappara as part of a three way deal for Johnson involving the Chicago White Sox. You may recall the Boston Red Sox had a deal in place to acquire Alex Rodriguez from the Texas Rangers prior to the start of this season, but that deal fell through when the MLB Players Association refused to allow Rodriguez to significantly restructure his contract. Rodriguez was ultimately traded to the hated Yankees for Alfonso Soriano, this year's All Star Game MVP.
The formal announcement of any deal will have to wait until the Big Unit approves the trade, as his contract includes a "no trade agreement." Team officials, on condition of anonymity, have informed this reporter that the deal is essentially, "a done deal."

As dissapointing as it may be (if true). I think the effect on the Yanks w/ RJ isn't as big as it would have been if he went to the Sox. NY is already in first place and will make the playoffs regardless of Johnson, their starting rotation is still not as good as Boston with Johnson as the NY ace, and left as is, I would take Pedro, Schilling, Lowe/Wake/Aroyo (you choose) over RJ, and an under performing Brown and Mussina in the playoffs.

                        are you joking me?

                        mussina
                        brown
                        VAZQUEZ
                        johnson
                        c'mon jose don't fukk up
                        and with quantrill,gordon, and mariano.
there is no way that the sox staff is better. not worse either, but not better. vazquez could and should be 12-3 now
as his run support has been a joke. he is the future of the yankees. brown is my only fear. he couldn't stay healthy in a hospital.

The Pen is where the Yanks are stong... Add Johnson and that is a solid staff that has the run production to back it up...

round out both staffs and i think the yanks have you beat.
a slight edge. brown and contreras against lowe and arroyo
                                is an advantage.
