Okay, I had to post this because, well Im bored, and I found it kinda funny after it was all said and done. Bear with me, its kinda drawn out and if ya dont wanna read it...then ummm...dont.....
Anyway, today we get a call from a finance company that bought a high risk car deal from Chrysler Financial. They informed us that Chrysler is giving us a chargeback for over 50K because the person that bought the vehicles is now saying he DID NOT purchase 2 vehicles from us in the past 6 weeks. Well, needless to say the boss FLIPPED!! Come to find out, the guy is a SSgt at Cherry Point, so me and the office manager decided to go into repo mode. Since the guy said he didnt buy the vehicles, then he doesnt need them, and Chrysler is taking 50K away from us..we want our cars back. I made a few phone calls and talked to a couple of my "connections" and found out the guy left here a few days ago headed to Japan. Well the boss flipped again....then me and the office manager took off on base to try and find the cars. Our first stop was PMO (military police) to see if he guy had registered the cars on base. He had a temp. pass for 1 but nothing for the other. PMO wouldnt give us anything in writing, just a verbal that yes the car did have a temp base pass. That wasnt good enough for us....we start checking the lemon lot just in case hes trying to sell it, and tried the impound lot for the guys that are deployed....well that was about 250 cars locked up, impossible to find what were looking for. We give up after that, and head back to the dealership. We walk in looking defeated, and everybody there is laughing and joking, just like a normal day. We looked at each other like WTF is going on??? The finance manager tells us that the finance company got confused and called our dealership by mistake to verify employment on the guy that bought the cars, and they spoke with our service advisor, which has the first name as the customer. The finance company took for granted the first names were the same and didnt verify the last name. They asked our service advisor if he had indeed purchased 2 vehicles from us in the past 6 weeks, and he said HELL NO!!! So, the contacted Chrysler saying the person never took delivery of the cars....it was actually pretty funny, well is now anyway, knowing we wont lose 50K....okay it sounds stupid, but Im bored....
