Re: Should I or shouldn\'t I??? Decisions...Decisions

I gotta '04 Mustang anniversary on my wish list. They come out in september. The 1964 1/2 retro styling makes it the best looking modern stang yet IMHO. I wouldn't buy a V-6, like DrsRacing said cause of the poor resale value. My Dad has a '02 V-6 stang and it ain't muscle enough for me.

We always called non-V8 Mustangs "Pusstangs" when we were younger. But, if you like the style and prefer the gas mileage of a V6 over the 8, it's your decision in the end.

I am in the car biz too. Dont get a V6 engine in a sportscar. The resale is terrible!!! I mean bad!!. That is especially important if you 5k upside down now, then you will have a very difficult time getting out of it later. Mustang resale sucks anyway. I would advise you to look into that 2000 Camaro you mentioned. THey hold their value better than Mustangs and are better cars. Mustangs havent been quality for a long time. I have sold both GM and Ford products over the last 10 years so I am not biased. If your stuck on a sports car, go with a GM. Get a Camaro or a Firebird, well A Corvette is best but they are pricey. The corvette resale is great as far as sports cars go. and do yourself a BIG favor and make sure what ever you buy has a V8 engine, preferable the biggest they offer. That will help the resale. DOnt worry about it hiking the insurance because the insurance is going to be very high on any sports car regardless of engine size. Just my 2 cents.

              Hope that helps. Good luck!!!

For you who say that V6 is weak. That's true if you're looking for true power, but here in Europe a regular car is 4 cylinder with 60-80 horse power and 1.4 litre engine. That's average.

But you have guys with 850i BMW's that have V10 or V12 agregats. Note that fuel prices are disastrous (cca. 5 USD for a gallon - 95 octane).

I should know tomorrow whether I get it or not. The Camaro we have is silver, and not very pretty, so I know I dont want it. We had a 2000 convertible Firebird on the lot for a couple of months, and it finally went to a wholesaler a couple days ago. I thought about that one but my ins would go up close to 100 more a month, and they wanted damn 21K for the car....The only thing thats stopping me from getting the mustang is my trade. I owe 13500 on it and the boss is gonna get a bid from our wholesalers Monday on it...theres also the possibility of his brother in law taking it...hes the GM at the local Mazda/Suzuki dealership. IF and thats a big IF he can get me outta my trade and brake even, he will lower the price of the mustang from 14900 to 9000 (what they actually gave for it). Im supposed to bring the car home tonight to keep til tomorrow and if I do I will snap a pic or two of it and see what ya think. Welp, Im off to work here in a bit, gotta love having absolutely NO LIFE and you hang out at work on your days off. But hell, theres a biker poker run coming through today and we are one of the stops (gotta feed em) and we are gonna grill chops, steaks, and chicken....gotta love cookin out at work!!! God I love working for such a bunch of kooks....but...WE HIT MPA!!! Thats all that matters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, this is somethins stupid you're saying. It may be that Zastava engines are like ****, but I can see some car freaks around me which have Yugos charged with things you can't even imagine. One guy produced 150 KW out of that 1.1 engine measured with RS machine on some tuning show.

If you're looking for fast speed cars, then I do not agree. There are damn good wheels in Europe too. Imagine injecting 115 octans into only 1.8 litre engine, producing 400 horse power! That's something.

Try VW Corrado VR6 or similar. Damn good car. Or M5 from BMW.

[/ QUOTE ] Totally agree here. Mustangs suck! I'd rather have any european or jap 4 banger anyday. Plus they'll go like 200k miles without a rebuild.

Souldigger, my friend drives an Audi 100 2.5 TDI and the engine has 400k miles and still goes over 170 MPH and drives like butter.

Guys, you're forgetting this is MRS LPC, as a female she is not wanting to make a logical decision

                              See, the Camaro isn't PRETTY

Also, Krista wants a domestic sporty car; that'll limit her choices. My choice would be a mid to late 90s Caddy Eldorado ETC, those things are hella fast, luxurious, and have depreciated to the point where they are in Krista's price range.

SO! She needs a car that will be standing with her in front of the closet for an hour or two every day and crushing its head to te wall what to wear today, right? Damn, this reminds of some other thread.

Also, you can always use some lipstick on Camaro.
