Re: Should I or shouldn\'t I??? Decisions...Decisions

I cant help it if I want a new car. Im VERY compulsive, and the car is there, and I want it....thats basically the end of the story. Ive never had a Mustang, so I guess nows the time to add it to my never ending list of cars. Im probably up to 20 or so now. Ive had everything from a 69 Chevy C10 to a Toyota Corolla to a Cutlass Supreme to a 84 Custom Deluxe to a 86 Firebird to a...damn, theres entirely toooo freaking many. Ive never owned a Ford in my LIFE that I can remember...well except for one I blew up in like 2 weeks so that one doesnt count, and the farm truck doesnt count either. And Mr LPC just got a new guitar in a couple weeks ago...soooooooooooooooooooooooooo.......need I say more???

90s Caddy Eldorado ETC, those things are hella fast, luxurious, and have depreciated to the point where they are in Krista's price range.

And are ridden with odd electrical gremlins that even Cadillac can't seem to fix. They're very nice till they break. When GM does a trans on those, they put in a new harness, factory rebuilt trans, and PCM/TCM, to the tune of over 5 grand.

Usually the death bell for many of them.

The Caddy's are just like the Lincons of that vintage, The lincons are worthless when the Air suspennsion goes out on them.

Even a Newer GT isn't that fast, I test drove one against the z28 on the same day and I'd take the Camaro any day, the Mustang had more "room" but the camaro had "mojo" when I slid my body into the seat. The Mustang just felt cold and dark, in the drivers seat. What's funny is I feel just the oppisate about the previous generation of Mustangs and F-Bodys. I hate with a passion 82-92 F Bodys, but I've had 2 fox body Capris and my sister has had 2 mustangs from the 79-93 era.

The only reason I wouldn't buy this car if I were you is the Resale, You'll be lucky to see half of price in a year or 2.

I'll never own another Ford product! I own a 98 Trans Am with 47xxx miles and it has 400hp. It's blood red metallic (cayenne metallic red) with tinted windows and a really obnoxious exhaust note! I love it. I was a Mecanic/Master Machinist for several years and Ford's suck!

RacerX "Guys, you're forgetting this is MRS LPC, as a female she is not wanting to make a logical decision
See, the Camaro isn't PRETTY "

I know GM aint perfect but most of their cars are the best bang for the buck in their categories.
As a Mechanic I know some things most people don't know about maintenance on all cars. So usually most bad experiences with a GM car or truck are due to a lack of knowledge about routine maintenance. MOST not all... Especially when talkin about 90's Caddy's, GM's experimental division. And I'm not talkin about the 80's cars either... we'll just try and forget about those.
