Re: Slipknot On Kimmel Tonight
I saw it... very cool! They played Duality and some other new song that I can't remember (I don't have the new cd yet). Mick was using a black Ibanez 7-string with "Seven" inlayed on the fretboard. Jim was using a Fender Tele.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Ron, it wasn't a repeat. They had George Eads of CSI on saying he overslept, tha's why he wasn't at work. That's how he got his job back with that story, which is from last week.
Anyway, though I'm not personally into them thought I'd mention it for those who were.
I thought they were alright, much better than the usual fare for Kimmel.Ron is the MAN!!!!

mickey's got himself an ibanhead? ick, i like his black bich better, that thing was killer. and jim's always got his Flathead teles these days, nothing special. haha./

Yeah, I was surprised when I saw it, too. Regular black RG body with white binding, looked like a 7-string to me. Seems like those guys will play anything. They've had Jacksons, B.C. Rich, now I guess Ibanez and Fender. I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Yeah, when I saw them a few years back on the Tattoo The Earth tour in Giants Stadium, Slayer went on right before them... and it was still daylight out. Something about Slayer going on in the day, and before Slipknot, was just wrong.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Re: Slipknot On Kimmel Tonight
Why, maybe how is more appropriate, do you use a tele for metal? It makes no **** sense to me.
BTW, who the **** would switch for an Ibanez? BCrich kicks their ass by a long shot.
One thing about slipknot that bugs me-they have nine people in the band, and still near zero talent. WTF? I'll give the drummer credit because he's actually pretty damn good, but the guitars suck.
Let's see here:
2 guitars
1 drummer
1 vocalist
1 bassist
2 custom drums (why?)
1 DJ/scratch dude, whatever the hell you call'em
Is there a keyboardist or something? How do you cram so many people into nothing?
Vocals are cool, nice warm up session and I guess it's fun to listen to, but that's about it for me. No offense to anybody that does like them.

By that logic Telecaster's are perfect. The whole metal way of life is to go against the grain. A Telecaster in metal does that in spades.
As far as the custom drummers, they are just for show. Nothing wrong with theatrics, but they should perfect their live sound a bit first.

Exactly!! I was thinking of getting a double humbucker Tele a couple years back but picked up something else instead. Maybe in the future I'll still pick one up. Meegs from Coal Chamber had a couple BC Rich signature Teles that were pretty cool looking, too. I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
