You might have to go truck freight. I don't think UPS, Fedex Ground or USPS will touch that. Call Roadway or check if they have a website. You'll need height, width and depth
packed in a box, as well as the weight. I bet
it's at least $150 though.

Cost me $150 to have my Uberkab sent via UPS from Kansas to Nevada. I think the weight was 105 lbs if I remeber correctly. Of course the Uberkab is only 4x12. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Fedex ground tells me they can go up to 120lbs, even though you can't find that anywhere on their web site (70 is the listed max). But I've never tried to go that high.

A fellow board member shipped me a 5150 straight cab from one of the Dakotas to Florida for about $180 from the UPS store. My ass still hurts.

Shipping cabinet is the last thing you would want to do.
It is a lot of work packing and getting the estimate.
That is why many people who sell cabinets on E-bay prefer of local pick up.

My Carvin 412 cab weighs 100 lbs. An SVT 810 cab is quite a bit heavier than that, Camel.
You may want to contact Ampeg and find out the dimensions and weight. You don't want to buy the cab and then the guy can't ship it to you for what he "estimated". I'd get a firm quote before buying.

Waitaminnit - 8 10" speakers or 10 8" speakers?

Either way, it's far more than 100lbs - probably close to 200 or more; same weight as two cabinets. Maybe 100 if it's unloaded...

An Ampeg SVT cab is 8 ten inch speakers and WAY more than 100 lbs.

He got back with me..hes saying its 165..hmm..still seems liek a good deal!..I was thinking probabley 100 to truck down? maybe alittle more? I dunno..

DHL. They are great.I use them all the time.

Another thing you can do is if you or the guy who is selling the cab have a friend who works at guitar store,
You can send your cab from there.
They usually have better rate and one time when I shipped my Bogner 4x12, I took the cab to Bogner Amplification in North Hollywood and they sent it out for me.
They also had a proper box to ship that I could use as well.
These are oversized and some shippin company will not accept unless you have a business account with them.

That's what I know.
