Why do these fucks have to spout their opinion all the fn time???
It's bad enough to hear them when someone asks them what they think, but to go on tour to spout your left wing commie BS is just amazing to me.
I see they are only hitting key states.
The fact that MN and WI are even in contention for Bush show that the Dems are losing touch with the majority of the "real world".
Now, I have to vote for Bush 2X just because these assholes are pissing me off... </font>

Didn't you know that because these idiots can strum a guitar that makes them an authority on Politics? In the eloquent words of Ted Nugent, "The Dixie Chicks can kiss my Ass!"

I remember years ago,(Bush-Clintion election) I was coming out of the local high school where I had just voted, and this teenage kid asked me for a light. So I give him my lighter, and him and his little grunge buddy light their cigarettes and say 'hey man, did you just vote?' So I say yeah, and he says "We voted for Clinton man." And his buddy said "Yeah, yeah, Eddie Vedder says vote for Clintion". It's bad enough that these bands are using their "popularity" to sway a legion of young voters, but what's even scarier is that these kids aren't voting because of any of the issues at hand, they're voting for someone only because a rock star tells them to! Now if Eddie vedder would tell all these kids to jump off a bridge...

Don't even get me started on this crap like this. Musicians and actors complain all the time about how the media invades their private lives and then they think they can spout off their political views to everyone. Those political views are an invasion of MY private life. I don't give a f-ck who you vote for... and if you start to use your fame/influence to get votes for your candidate then you no longer deserve a private life. If you have the nerve to tell me who to vote for then you should open the door to all of your private life to me and to everyone else in America. If you don't want to share so much then shut the f-ck up!

Rant = OFF;

You guys should've been at Warped Tour-NOFX and Anti-Flag were really bad about this. I think it's a good thing that people in their position speak out and try to get people thinking about politics and the world around them, but I think a lot of them take it too far by putting their own political opinion into it. However, I'm all for being politically active but making your own choices, so at least some of these guys are getting people thinking more about such issues who otherwise wouldn't have.

Well, after each and every fuggin tune, he's spoitin more garbage, needless to say, after abotu 4 tunes, I had it, and left, when I looked back sitting on my bike, there were people leaving in droves, droves man! It was awesome, I couldn't believe these guys talkin their sh!t at something so far away from politics, i don't give a rats ass who it is, if I wanted to listen to the hype and propaganda, I'd turn on one of the news channels...

What amuses me the most is how rock stars think music gives them a special insight into politics and world affairs, making them the wise experts that we all should listen to. They really do need to shut the hell up and leave the thinking to those with brains.

Well, it is not just musicians. It it pretty much in all forms of entertainment. At least those artists on the "right" side of the political forum are smart enough to realize to keep there thoughts to themselves.

Sometimes fame/prestige brings along ego for the ride. So some of these types tend to believe that because they are famous, they must now a lot about everything... at least more than lesser folks, like you and I.

If by "right" you mean Republican, Pat just mentioned Nugent who is Republican. I agree,
if you want to make your position known, fine,
but make it fast and don't beat a dead horse throughout your set.

Any artist who would diss a fan because that fan has a differing political philosophy, doesn't deserve that fan anyway. In America we agree to disagree, with respect.

These folks are touring specifically to spout their political opinion in "key" states.
Not to play for their fans.
I like the nuge's music and opinion on guns and hunting, but if he was spouting off after every song, I would be pissed too.
Play Great White Buffalo and shut the hell up...

If it gets more people to vote then I'm all for it. My guess is if you are a Bush fan you won't go, if you aren't then you will. Why can't they share their political opinions or views? , we do it here all the time. Alot of people DO NOT LIKE BUSH, alot DO.

Re: Pretentious ROCK STARS

If it's an obvious political party fundraising tour, that's one thing. People are going to it for that reason, not primarily for the music itself.

Ted Nugent alternately playing for 5 minutes and talking politics for 5 minutes throughout a "regular" (i.e., non-political) tour just means I get fukked out of half a set's worth of Nugent. I want 90-120 minutes of Nugent songs, not half songs and half GOP commercials. Express your views, but get it over with and get on with rockin'!

I agree guys, and it's not that I didn't disagree with Teddy, I was there to enjoy the show, hell, you can't get further away from politics than a Biker Ralley, IMO anyway.

I agree with a lot of what Ted says, just didn't want it crammed down my throat.
