Re: Children of the 80s......

i remember the pull tops,we used to chain them together to remember how much we had to drink the night before. the skating rink was a BIG part of my youth, i was on various speed teams for like 7 or 8 years.
anyone remember the little red SWEDISH FISH? or the little styrefoam like flying saucers that would melt in your mouth. we would go tho the little polish deli and buy them for a penny each.
converse hi-top allstars with 2 colored laces checkerboarded.
and a PK RIPPER was like the bike to have, unless of course you had a Hutch, Redline, or a GT, but i'll bet most of us had a HUFFY or two first, and at least one with a banana seat. i still have a Hutch in my garage...somewhere.
oh ya and the shows,NIGHT FLIGHT and FRIDAY NIGHT VIDEO's, and what the hell was the name of that frisbee made by like Wamo, that was just a big red ring ? i think it had a yellow stripe too?

That's hilarious, my 2 friends had a PK and Redline, and knew plenty of others with Hutch and GT! I think my friend still has that PK Ripper. I myself had the Team Murray X20R!

I too remember pull tabs. They were all over the place.

Ahh, but do you remember what came after the pull tabs?

Those stupid two diferent sized dots? First you were supposed to push in the small one, to let some pressure out, then you push in the bigger one to drink from.

Only when you're a kid your small thumb goes right through the **** hole and gets all cut up! I wonder how many lawsuits that caused...

Someone's got a good memory! I used to use a wooden spoon handle to open those.

Theres one thing I remember like it was yesterday that isnt mentioned on this list anywhere...Night Tracks on TBS....everybody wanted to stay at my house on weeekends because not too many people had cable back in the sticks and I was one of the lucky ones that had it....

Summer nights were the best, playing spotlight until midnight (that was being out late for me)....then going back to my house and grilling steak and watching Night Tracks....

Then it was Headbangers Ball....I think I had my license then....so I HAD to be home by midnight just to watch it!!

I remember Night Tracks, vaguely. The one channel I do really remember in the early '80s was U68. It was a metal video channel on the old tvs with UFH dials. Just turn the regular dial to U and the dial on top to 68... it was a kick-ass metal station with videos from Wasp, Queensryche, Razor, White Lion, Stryper, etc.

Never watched The Goonies?!? Blasphemy!!! I saw that movie in the theater... by myself, after the girl I was supposed to have my first date with didn't show up. Well, she said she got there late but couldn't find me... I guess that's because I didn't want to miss the movie and figured she wasn't showing. I actually saw that movie not too long ago, too.
