I just cant justify paying that much for damn cheerleading uniforms....they better be stitched with gold!!! As long as she enjoys it though, I guess thats all that really matters, and her grades stay up....They better win state champs in both football and basketball too (if this happens it will be the first time...EVER!!) Hopefully I will get to see her cheer soon....

University starts on September 9 for me here... I'm totally NOT looking forward to going back. Summer rules where you can work during the day and have free time afterwards. I think I will work my ass off this school year so that I can get as much free time as possible. Good incentive.

My second grade daughter's first day today...I go to pick her up after school, right?
She comes running out of the building, spots me, raises her horns to heaven and belts out (she has a wicked loud voice)

That's awesome Em ...it sure helpful when the kid likes school...

Vinny likes school too ...but last year he had a dried up ol' prune for a teacher ...she was sooooooo dry ...not even a smile from that lady.....Vinny hated it....so did I.

Sounds like your daughter got a good teacher and made some friends.....cool!!!!

I remember when my youngest, Veronica, was in Pre-K. Every morning I took her to school and picked her up that afternoon (had no choice, I sent her to school in another county...)anyway, I lingered in the hallway for the first couple of weeks just to see how she reacted, and every morning they had to sing the Star Spangled Banner....well being the redneck that I am, and teaching my girls the finer art of redneckism....she made up her own words and sang at the top of her lungs....at the end, all the other kids sat down and Miss Veronica just stood there...Miss Terri finally asked her why and she said the song isnt over...you didnt say "Gentlemen, start your engines..." I thought I was gonna bust when I heard that....everyday after that, they all had to stand while Veronica said "Gentlemen, start your engines".

When Tia was in Kindergarden, she went through this "Nekkid" phase. Everything she did, she was nekkid.... I went a parent/teacher meeting (first and only one)..and the teacher had all the kids talk about what they had learned, and the topic was "your inside voice"...all the other kids were so polite and all talking about when and why to use your inside voice...and here comes Tia...."use your inside voice when your running through the house nekkid....use your inside voice when your coloring nekkid...and daddy lays on the couch in his underwear drinking beer, and he should use his indoor voice, but he has bad manners..." I think I turned about 12 shades of red, but couldnt help but laugh....God that seems like yesterday.....I would give my left tit to have those days back (minus the ex husband)...
