Did you see the pics of Fred on the website?
He looked very unhappy and tired.

Can't take credit for that one...just look at the spelling!

Some dude on Blabbermouth said that; I was just quoting him here.

But yeah, a lot of people have suggested I do standup comedy.

Yay. Just in time for nu-metal to be dead. I'll bet turn durst begged him to help the band get another hit CD.

They are back together... they're now called Alter Bridge, and they've just got a different singer. I saw a commercial on tv for their upcoming cd. It's supposed to show off Mark Tremonti's soloing skills a little more (from what I just read in GW magazine), but I never was a Creed fan and don't think I'll be buying this album either.

Check this link for thier new Video.
Check the solo part. Mark Tremonti tries to shred like Zakk or Petrucci.

I heard an advance single from Alter Bridge a while back. Just as pompous and preachy as Creed. Changed the channel before the 1st verse was over, so I can't say whether Tremonti's "mad skillz" were showcased. All I can say is the world was never more ready for the return of Priest & Megadeth. They will get plenty of airplay here. People are ready for real musicianship. A few months ago, the big Country station here switched formats to mostly '80s hard rock & metal and promptly started kicking the ass of the most popular rock station, which was playing mostly nu-metal. They immediately countered by playing more old-school metal themselves. They actually played Crowley during my evening commute the other day. I swear I checked to see if I had accidently hit the CD-changer button, because I had never heard it on the radio before. Just watched that vid, Tremonti atleast got better. I did'nt think it was half bad, better than Creed was.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. With Priest and Megadeth back plus this influx of heavier bands both American and from Europe that can actually play metal is back in a big way!

The other day I was in Guitar Center trying gear and actually attracted a little audience and not just gawkers, people who knew their stuff and appreciated a good Macalpine lick when they hear it.

Checked out the Alter Bridge video. Not a bad little shred solo there toward the end. Other than that, it sounds like Creed, but with a vocalist who can carry a tune. Not my cup o' tea, but not horrible, either. The only downer is the same plodding rhythm that every nu-metal song seems to have. These guys need to spend some time playing speed metal or Funkadelic tunes to get some good rhythm chops under their belts.
