I wear my inverted crosses and pentagrams and dress in all black 24 / 7...shave my head and have a 6 inch shagrath on my chin...and the most important part of my uniform ...keep my black steel-toe s h i t kickers to a mirror polish ...

OK as a copper ...you have to make split decisions in a blink of an eye ...when "I" see a tat ...first thing I think of is "Bust-out" ...you know trailer park loser or convict ....or both.....that's if I don't know ya.

I've been getting tattoed since I turned 18 in 1990, and I still want more. I don't think I could get any facial piercings in my line of work (I'm a court reporter and work with attorneys all the time), but they never see the tats under my dress clothes. I think if you're getting pierced or inked as part of a fad then you're real dumb.
I love artsy, colorful tattoos though. I have one I designed myself and workin' on another. They're addicting!
Some I think look real dorky (Dave Navarro) like stickers on your body (temporary tattoos up and down yer arm! Posin' posin' posin'!") [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img], and I agree that piercings like anything else can be over the top. But some I think are beautiful on the right person.
Though I don't know how some people can get pierced where they do. GEEZ! Shudder. Dude's got his wank pierced- that is a definite turn-off in my book.

I agree with you Emthrax. Getting a tattoo or piercings to go along with the crowd is not very smart. Getting something that you like or has significance to you is another thing. I have two tattoos - one is the standard rose & heart design but the other is a dragon that was drawn by a friend of mine. I like the look of good artwork ....and I also enjoy getting them done [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Bottom line with either tattoos or piercings is that if you like it - that is the most important thing but you do have to be prepared for negative reactions from some people.
