Actually he was going to sue Nabisco for the Double-Stuff Oreos, since it was his idea to stack the two "good" halves of two Oreos together, just like everything else [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Ok, I've just recently bought all the "remastered" VH CDs (the good ones with Dave - I through 1984) - and I reiterate what I've said all along: EVH had the flash with the tapping stuff, but for a guy who claims to have memorized every Clapton solo note for note, he can't seem to fit anything together to form a melody that compliments the song. I'll hafta do a song-by-song critique, but from what I've heard over the last week or so, Ed was NOT a lead guitarist. He had some great rhythms and such, and the flashy licks (tapping and a few small fills) but overall, he dropped the ball big time for the solos.

As for lawsuits, better grab up all the Stars you can before he sobers up and realizes that everyone's copying the hack-job he did to that Destroyer [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I say learn those solos note-for-note, then write even ONE song with a better solo than any of Ed's, and then maybe you can critique
the guy's soloing ability.

I'd say every solo on the first 4 albums was classic and creative. If they don't make sense to you, maybe you're not analyzing them
to see the form and structure that's there.
If you simply don't like his solos, that's your prerogative. To say he's not a lead guitarist, it sounds like you think you're better. Do you?

Hydrox (I think they're now called Droxies) are sooo much better than Oreos! [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] Those new Golden Oreos are actually pretty good, but they're a rip-off of Vienna Fingers. [img]/images/graemlins/fart.gif[/img]
