• Clarify my Charvel addiction

I was sadden by an email I got and wanta make something clear regarding a debate about guitar pictures:

    I quote
"this is about your desire to be the big guy, the big collector, and to have your name up in charvel lights"

This is/was not my intent and it saddens me to think people view that of me. I had hoped people would use my site as I did Wittes and Lanes for fun and to see cool Charvels. To foster discussions to see what a "work order" actually looks like, what "neck pocket markings" looked like etc.. I have a ton of posts here (and on the CC) where I tried to be helpful and keep the Charvel flag flying high.

Anyway I will stop my ramblings and debates here and on the JCF. Just want to let people know that I actually do not want to be the big guy..love to share, no more no less and saddens me if this is the perception people have of me.

Anyway, peace out I am sure the admins will keep the Charvel flame alive.

    Cheers

Anyone who says that doesn't know you Tracy. I have seen you around your Charvels. If they were worth $5 each you would still love them as much as you do today. Don't let jealous stabs at your character phase you as you know better.

Amen, you have been nothing but a wealth of knowledge being shared, I don't get what is going on here, but I think you are A-OK!, and no I still won't sell you my Bengal (at least not yet!)
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

Tracy, please don't let the opinion of one person keep you from continuing to participate here. I have never once felt that you were trying to act like a bigshot or rub anything in our faces either here or on your site. I think the vast majority of people here appreciate all the info, insight and especially the enthusiasm that you bring to the table. If the person who wrote that is also a collector, I would just chalk it up to one of the inevitible clashes of egos that seem to crop up from time to time in just about any competitive situation.

thats F'ed up. Dude i wish there was a BCRich collector who showed his guitars like you do. To be able to see trends & changes in build between years, model changes, all verified & **** is ROCK. the fact you have a web site & share all that info is even cooler. F'em...its not worth the BS.

What did I miss? This is a place for you to spread your wealth of knowledge and share your guitars. Don't let someone ruin the help that you provide to others that deserve it.

Some people just do not understand the passion and addiction these guitars can be.

For what it is worth, I appreciate the fact that you have made your collection so available for viewing. I sold the all original I had a long time ago and with all the rip offs out there, you site has provided a great reference to quickly be able to spot potential fakes and other issues.

My gawd! Does this mean that anyone with time to put a website together and share their items on it should shut down because we're all being bigshots?? Granted, my site isn't half as big and informative as yours it, but I've got plans for it and I'll be damned if I'm going to let some big-mouthed punk get me down with his misconception of what I (or you) am about!

Tracy, you are indeed a valued member of this community. Your website is a wealth of knowledge and eye-candy for those of us who only aspire to amass the collection that you have. Please, shrug off this chucklehead, rub some dirt on it, and get back in the game!

I like looking at guitars, I like the fact that people here show off there guitars and talk about them. Isn't that the whole point of the forum ?

                            Re: Clarify my Charvel addiction

Sounds like a jealous dickhead. Didn't Brett get a similar email a while back for having all but 3 of the LTDs?

To the Jealous Douchebags out there in JCF-land: Piss Off, losers. So what if someone's got more of something you like than you do? Whose fault is that? Yours. If I could afford it I probably would be doing the same thing as Brett and Tracy, and you would too.

As was stated, there's the information that comes from ONE person having MANY SD Charvels, as you get a better understanding of how to spot real ones from fake ones, and helpful/historical info as well, as opposed to someone with a large collection HOARDING that useful info - I wonder why? Could it be to narrow the field of fair competition (greed)? Or could it be to churn out fakes and pass them off as genuine?

heh... well, all i ask is that tracy, if you're gonna quote me, quote me completely.

                              [ QUOTE ]

you and i both know where this started. leo stole images from the jcf (which yes, is copywritten material owned by the jcf) and made a gallery. he posted that gallery on cc, and a fallout happened. you picked up that flag, charged forward, and urged leo to complete it, and part of the motivation was sticking it to bret and cc. it's very transparent; your advocacy of the gallery increased tenfold as soon as there was a cc admin issue with it.

your post on the jcf wasn't intended to do much more than stick it in our noses.
i understand that you currently have an open-share policy on your site, and that's fine. but you and i both know that as soon as your serial number information is posted on your site, that will go out the window. you told me that yourself. this isn't about sharing information, this is about your desire to be the big guy, the big collector, and to have your name up in charvel lights. that's fine, but it's not okay to be completely disrespectful to others in the community the way you have. not everyone gets along with each other, and that's part of nature, but trace, i gotta be honest with you in saying that your current gallery cause is very disrespectful to the admins of both boards that created and maintain those galleries. yes, it's cool to have pix of many charvels all over the place. but let's look at art galleries for a second; if all of them had copies of the mona lisa, those galleries lose a bit of what makes them special.

i'm not saying that it's not cool to have a ton of galleries; it is. but they should all have their own content. that's what makes it special. i'm also pretty certain that you wouldn't grab pix off of rob's site, would you?
