When someone has many of the same tastes, you enjoy the same types of foods, the same (commonalities), you share views/perspectives, and you think the same, and you feel comfortable sharing those things and they are heard. But also that you also have tolerance, patience for one another to be your own person, with your own thoughts. You can laugh at yourselves, at at each other, and you go out of your way to do things, doesn't have to be much, just a little thing to make the others day..that you show you care and visa versa. You rely upon one another..and you can count on that in good times and when the chips are down.
But also, you can look at and be around this person and they still appeal to you as they first did.
There is such things as relationship Karma as well..it doesn't take much to throw things off and they can go south..that can be very rough, the love rollercoaster.
Sometimes you have to weigh getting off the ride depending on where you are in life. I passed on a lot of good relationships taht could have developed into a marriage type of situation..but being a musician on the on the road, it takes a special type of person to be understanding and supportive of that. An old friend of mine just got divorced because she thought he was putting his music and what he wanted to do with it above his family, so she bowed out after 14 years. Women who make alot decent income, can be better off getting child support while retaining their independence and their career-such was the case here, she got to a point where ideals and friction weren't the same.

eat the ass...if you find that special someone ..like Charvelguy expressed ...

go to Dicks sporting goods and get some decent scuba gear , oxygen tanks and all...you'll need it!!!

I've got a curse. My philosophy is that I don't and won't date my female friends. Not for fear of risking what we have, but just because they seem more like sisters than bangable material, even though some of them are rather good-looking. I am extremely comfortable and truly myself around my friends, but I don't even think about them "that way". I just don't picture myself with them. The girls I like are those I think I have nothing in common with, and we can't even spark decent conversations. It's kind of a curse. But, I won't settle for anything less than I deserve, coming out of a relationship with a hot and very compatible one a couple of years back. So, I've been single by choice ever since, with no expectations.

Alright, rant over. I'm content with being single now though. I tell the younger kids that it's okay and it's easier not worrying about it. You know how some kids are, constantly whining that they are lonely and will commit suicide if they don't find somebody to be with.
