I would have to say picking up a pair of Charvel 750s.They have be come my main guitars.Runner up would have to be the V-Amp2.It makes playing late into the night much easier.

Sounds like you guys have picked up some pretty awesome toys!!
My favorite purchases so far this year are:
1. Electro Harmonix Octave Multiplexer - That thing in front of a cranked tube powerhouse just turns to this HEAVY occilating deep sort of thunderous sound!!
2. KORG PXR4 Pandora multi track recorder - Like the Pandora, but with a little onboard recording studio, awesome for jamming on the back of the tour bus!! Not crazy about the tone, but it does so damn much for $300, who am I to complain?
Of course the guitar I built this year is my favorite new piece of gear, but I didn't buy it, I made it. Does the hardware I bought for it count? I made my own pickups, neck and body, and the rest I got pretty much for free...
My LP Std. I had one before and hated it, it had the thin 60s neck which I thought would be better since I generally like thin necks. I could barely play it at all. But this one has the 50s neck and some days I can play it better(shredwise) than my Jacksons. Go figure
Chris
Damn, I had a busy year both buying and selling. I bought a DNA Jem, Jem7DBK, Jem 15th Anniv., Red Rum PC-1 and other assorted goodies.
I need to start thinking about what to buy next year...
Damn, there's some pretty cool sounding gear in this thread that I had never considered - or even heard of - before.
Hmm, What did I buy this year, My USA Fender Strat. It's a 95, with no US ANYWHERE on it, but it's serial number labels it as a 95 (N5 blah blah). I've taken the single in the bridge and neck out, and replaced the bridge with a Duncan Distortion, and the neck with a lil 59, and disconnected the tones, and the middle pickup, and ran it to a 3 way.
The guitar has a fat tone, then when I added those pickups, it got even fatter, and since I didn't want to tune down my Jacksons, I tuned it down to D, and put Stainless Steel strings on it, and let me tell you now it's louder, and heavier. I alos changed the pickguard to something a bit cooler than the white. Truely a unique Strat in terms of tone.
I don't remember if it was this year, I'm pretty damn sure it was but then again I could be wrong, but I know it's been within the last year, my Marshall JCM800 from Twisteramps.
Aside from needing retubed, biased, and filter caps installed at the moment, that amp was ran with my Mesa, all the time. It has some of the best sounds, from a Marshall that I've heard. Not saying it's the best Marshall ever, but It has all the tone you could ever want. Clean channel leaves a lot to be desired, but that's with all JCM800s..I mean who bought it for the clean?
Like Shreddermon, I recently got hold of a Roland Micro Cube. What a funky little beastie that is!
Apart from that, I bought a cheap Fernandes Strat off o'the Bay - that turned out to have completely hammered frets - and a Model series Charvel neck, which is also in dire need of fretwork (or burning...)
Does strings count ...I got some strings this year ...oh and a few picks too..
