• Vasectomy?? opinions.....

OK so I am interest in getting a vasectomy and I have already seen a doctor for a preliminary consultation. What I want are real world opinions of how things work after. I dont like relying on my partner taking the pill.

Any differences in sex?

any pros and cons you noticed??

would appreciate any opinions you can share. thanks!!!

Any differences in sex? Nope. It all still works the same. Sex drive is not affected either. For you or your spouse.

Pros:
- Wife no longer has to take the pill.
- You look like a hero for "taking the responsibility"
- Neighborhood wives now think you are a lot sexier, because they know a quick roll in the hay with you won't land them with a bun in the oven. (I'm kidding)

Cons:
- Neighborhood husbands hate you because now their wives say "Well, he got one, why don't you" and they are too scared to do it.

It really is no big deal. I challenge you to find anyone who hates needles and knives more than I do, and I had no problem with it. My doctor prescribed me one Valium and on Vicadin to take one hour before the procedure. I felt incredible by the time I got to the clinic, and the doc was half done with the procedure before I even knew he started.

My only advice is not to over exhert yourself afterwards. I was driving around running errands the day after I had it done, and in retrospect, I should have spent the day in my theater watching movies (bruising).

Good luck.

I don't like my Jimmy being cut and my wife got an IUD but if that is not an option then so be it. If you are not in a long term relationship you still better be wearing your jimmy hat.

The opertaion is easy and everyone I know who has got one is happy with it sans one who after ten years the surgery reversed itself... lo and behold @ 45 he had another child. He didn't beleive his wife for the longest time

Re: Vasectomy?? opinions.....

I had a vasectomy when I had my right testicle removed. I experienced more pain than most as the operation was much more invasive, in my case. The procedure for the vasectomy was only twenty minutes long and the post op care was minimal.
I have experienced no decrease in sex drive, but I do experience pain during ejaculation. Again, this is most likely due to my other issue and not the vasectomy.
My brother in law just had it done and he has had no troubles.

A walk in the park. Just take it easy for a few days. My doctor f*cked up and didn't send any dope home with me. 2-hours later I was dying....Long story short, don't leave the Dr. office without painkillers.

Good luck!

Go for it. It was not at all as bad as I thought it would be. Sex is the same or even better (no more worries). THe only thing I can tell you is to take it easy right after (a few days). Keep it iced. You don't want any swelling. Thats where the pain comes from.

Ditto about the ice. My advice is to make a jock strap, a pair of sweatpants, and a 32 oz. bag of frozen peas your best friends for the two days after the procedure.

I had absolutely no pain afterwards, but if you can score som epainkillers, you'll be covered if you have any pain issues.

What? Does he have headaches and cry all the time? Does he just want to sit around all the time and watch Oprah?

Go for it man, I'm headed that way shortly. I have several friends who have had no complaints about the procedure.

As long as sex isn't affected and pain isn't a factor, sounds like a win/win. I might head in that direction next year, after our second is born.

A question, though... How do they "verify" the little swimmers will have lost their diving trunks? Squeezing off some ice cream in a cup, I assume?

Re: Vasectomy?? opinions.....

One of the best things is telling your guy friends the gory details of the operation. It's hilarious seeing them cringe.

The proceedure is mildy humiliating and painfull, but it's the right way to go. It's only humiliating if you consider laying buck ass naked on the operating table with your shaved nards poking through a full body length plastic tarp while the doc scrubs up the aformentioned nards with anitseptic soap for a minute or two while the nurse watches. Not exactly the fantasy I have with a nurse at the doctors office if you know what I mean

Also, the first time you orgasm afterward is great. It's a mixture of fear of wondering if it will hurt and anticipation. It was kinda like the first time all over again. I would recommened the first time to be a solo experience.

Also, it's kinda wierd having your wife know you are going into the bathroom to wack it and store your spooge in a platic container, which you then get to hand to a nurse at the clinic.
"Yes,..that's when they used to shove a red hot spike in your peehole until you screamed "yes, yes, godammit ..you fuggin' dicks..I'm a witch..I am witch..you cocksuckers"" horns666
