Re: Vasectomy?? opinions.....

I know a few guys who have had it done. Their reactions ranged from: "I didn't feel anything, and went back to screwing 2 days later" to "my balls ached for 2 weeks, and I couldn't even walk for the first couple of days."

Re: Vasectomy?? opinions.....

From what I understand, the little guys are still viable. All the vasectomy does is destroy the bridge to the high road...ie...they got no place to go.

Since the little guys are now swimming around inside your body but outside of where they are supposed to be, your body treats them like an invader and pretty much wipes them out. If you were to go back and have a vasectomy reversal, you would never reach the output you once had because of how your body reacts to sperm production.

Can you tell I'm considering this? I've done my homework

This whole thread is strangely hilarious, and I know it's not supposed to be. I had to literally muffle my laughter when reading all the responses.

Even though I have decided with myself that I don't want children, I never actually thought about having a vasectomy until I read this thread. Interesting stuff.

Apparently, for extra self-assurance, you're supposed to ejaculate a few times in order to clear the urethra of any remaining sperm there before baking your fertile woman a juicy creampie. Then, after that, go spoogin'.

Re: Vasectomy?? opinions.....

The sperm is still viable after the procedure for as many as five...shots. So the advice to "clean the pipes" before going after the old lady is sound and highly recommended. I have a friend who impregnated his wife two months after having the operation - he neglected to have his business tested, post op. His vasectomy didn't take and had to have it done a second time.

My doc said to bring in the first cup of man yogurt after I had 10 loads. They don't consider your clear until you have 2 sperm free (even dead ones) samples. I think they also wanted a 12 month follow-up. Maybe vasectomy's affect your memory cause I'm not too sure about that

I'm not a doctor and don't even pretend to be one on the internet, but I doubt that your body treats sperm as invaders post vasectomy. Your body naturally absorbs the little swimmers if they don't make their way out into the big wide world.

And if I was a doctor you can damn sure bet I would have precribed myself medical cannabis

Re: Vasectomy?? opinions.....

I understand that your body does eventually see the sperm as foreign and develops antibodies againse them, making the chances of being fertile even less in the event of a reversal.

I am thinking real heavy on this as I have come to the conclusion that I dont really want kids. I have no problem with the fear of the procedure itself. I am way cool with that. I just got to weight out the possibility of falling in love with a woman who MUST have kids. and hey, If I met the right woman, who knows???? I may change my mind. I just dont like to rely on women taking hte pill and raincoats are a pain to deal with in a long term relationship. I mean when you are with one woman and dont need to worry about STD's, they are a pain. I just have anxiety about trusting a woman to be fully reliable about the Pill.

any thoughts??

I think it's a good idea, Tonemonster. Get it done and cream her up like a madman. I don't want children either and condoms would be expensive and inconvenient in the long run... maybe there's a place you can buy them in bulk, like Price Club. Re: Vasectomy?? opinions.....

Man, I honestly never wanted kids. My childhood pretty much sucked and I didn't want the responsibility because I constantly saw my mom shrug it off on a daily basis.

Then, the love of my life became pregnant...2 kids, 2 houses, thousands of diapers and hundreds sleepless nights later, I wouldn't change a thing. We might even have a third on the way (as I slap my fore head)...that means house #3 cause we're out of bedrooms.

If you haven't met the woman you want to marry yet, I would hold off on the vasectomy...IMHO

I don't plan on marriage either. I've felt strongly about this for the past year or so now, along with the whole not wanting children thing.

And just because you marry someone doesn't necessarily mean she wants children either.

By Jimmy B: [ QUOTE ]
I have experienced no decrease in sex drive, but I do experience pain during ejaculation. Again, this is most likely due to my other issue and not the vasectomy.

[/ QUOTE ] I experienced that too for about the first 6-8 months. Scared the crap out of me . I saw the doc a couple times and he couldn't find anything wrong, and the pain slowly went away .

Anyhoo, to Tonemonster: The best advice I can give is the same that my Doc gave me: Make damn sure you're done having kids before you do this. Sure, they can reverse it, but every year that lapses before the reversal reduce your chance of the reversal being effective. After 5 years, the chances are pretty slim if any that you could ever successfully reproduce. In my case, I was done, 100% for sure and I'll never have another. The procedure itself is a snap, some discomfort after (see response to Jimmy B.), but not bad. Just take it easy as everyone else has said. Personaly, I'm glad I did it, but it is a very personal desision. Just make sure you're making the right one and good luck.
Oh yeah, and with the exception of not having to worry about a rain coat anymore, nothing had changed as far as sex. Everything works just the same.

having kids is a pretty stupid thing to do in the first place. i think every man should have a vasectomy and the human species should stop reproducing altogether.

look at this sh¦t world and where it's going, do you really want to contribute to that???

and yeah marriage is the biggest crock of donkey hemmoriods that north american / european society has shoved down people's throats. first if you love a girl, you don't need some faggot priest to tell you so, or sign a legal contract that says so. secondly, especially in the english language, look at these hideous words: "wife" "husband" "spouse" etc....... not exactly how i look forward to referring to my loved one.

and fu¢k those retarded idiots who think aborting a piece of organic waste (unwanted fetus) is "murder" ......

Re: Vasectomy?? opinions.....

TO be frank, the idea of having children scares the hell out of me. I am not quite as staunch as delt, but I do sahre some of the same feelings. I dont like what I see in todays world and I really question the idea of bringing life into it. I mean the world is really goin go hell in a handbasket and its only gonna get worse. I dont know if I want to subject a child to that. I am very insecure about being a good father. I would ONLY father a child if I felt I was really capable to be a terrific father. I dont know if I can do it. I think its way too much responsibility for me and I would fold under the pressure, which is NOT good for the child to go thru that. I would probably end up in the mental ward chewing on valiums for the next 20 years. NO bull$hit!!! I dont know if I could handle that type of constant responsibility without it destroying me. SO I think it might be best for me not to procreate and find a woman who feels the same way to marry. We can live happily togther with no children.

This maybe the ticket for me. The idea of the vasectomy doesnt scare me, I just want to make sure its the right choice for me as I dont want to regret it later.

Re: Vasectomy?? opinions.....

I went in for a vasectomy when I was 19. The doctor would not perform one on me - said I was too young (and the youngest person with this request he and his collegues had ever heard of). Back then I was really getting laid a lot, and had 2 pregnancy scares going on at once. That will **** with your head, especially when you're just a college student. So anyway, no vasectomy, and neither bitch reproduced. I had doubts they were even pregnant, but more likely pissed off that I didn't want to continue three-somes with them (long story, and no, I will not get into it).

So, I'm 33 now, still no kids and haven't had the V. If you can catch your snap in time, or better yet WRAP UP, you'll probably be OK. You never know - I might reproduce if I find the right woman and she convinces me it's the right thing. I fish a lot when I'm not chasing ass and having a little dude to fish with would be OK.
