Trying out for a new band... Need help

Hey bros... I'm trying out for a new band here and I'm looking for a quick and easy way to try and boost the tone of the bass guitar on their recordings that I have. Some parts in their recording the bass is a little bit more difficult to hear than others. I know that there are programs out there that cut down on the vocals without effecting other parts of the music; is there a program that does this for bass?

Also any suggestions in general on how to learn songs quickly would be appreciated.

Turn it up and go in another room. You'll hear the bass lines better that way.
Otherwise, if you can't make out what the other guy did, do your own thing.

EQ out the high frequencies and turn up the lower ones.
