recent but probably not the most recent...a lot of my time has been spent finishing up the new torquestra cd and there are no lyrics on it...lol...

it's a strange thing. most songs are about love, love we have, love we had or love we wished for. somehow it seems to be belonging together, love and music, regardless the style (ok, maybe in the more extreme versions of metal not)

I did write some lyrics as well, for 2 years ago, and nowadays I don't seem to get anyting substantial again, I can't go beyond 6 lines.
maybe it is because all those songs are about love, strange thing, I can't talk about that: have none, had none and the ones I wished for are nothing to write about. philosophical lyrics are hard to write, because keeping an abstract level is hard. so no lyrics in this thread for me.

oh, sorry for the tone in this post, have a situation here with someone I don't want to have a situation with and usually I translated things like that into lyrics, but it is not succeeding right now [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I just words for a song called "Inherit the week" ...not happy lyrics...The song is about human pollution imposing their BS on the rest of us ...and us always having to pick up the tab...

I think the last lyrics I wrote involved an abduction. I think...it's been a while. I've been too busy with student teaching lately. I saved it in my documents somewhere..

also wrote one about a public murder/revege type thing I liked that one quite a bit.

That is an example of one of my two kinds of songs. I write songs that either convey my feelings towards others, or I write songs that tell a story. The song above is the former.

In the songs I write about feelings, they are usually about hatred, insanity, nihilism, oppression, anarchy, blasphemy, violence and drugs. Oh, and tulips.

In my storytelling songs, I usually try and transport the listener to a far-away place, either in the distant future or in the past. I like to tell stories of transformation, determination, power and self-empowerment. I have no time for love songs.
