Hey dudes and dudettes! Long time, no post! Nice to see there's another girl here besides me, and taller, too!! Woo!
I got the update on some of you rascals, by reading your posts, etc., and I thought (hoped) you might have wondered where I've been, so I wanted to tell ya... why? 'cuz I'm excited, that's why!
For a few months now I've been working hard with my new band, The Red Volution. We've got quite a few songs, six of which we are playing in our current hour-long set, more will be added at our next show. One of our songs is 11 minutes long... Our style is dark, dynamic/progressive heavy rock... I suppose... though I find it hard to define our style.
We're currently in the studio recording our first album, Dark Matter. So far we've got the drums and 80% of the bass done. I'll begin laying-down the guitar tracks in two days (on 9/15) using my JACKSON RR-1, of course! We expect the album to be available by December of this year, at the latest.
We played our first show last Wed, 9/8 at Room 710 here in Austin. We didn't flyer or advertise, and the local music rag even misprinted the ad for the club, so we weren't in it! But with all that, we still pulled 60-70 people out at 11pm on a Wednesday night! We were quite blown-away, to say the least.
I have posted three of our songs from that show on my website, www.RightSideOut.net, if you're interested in listening to them. The quality is digital camcorder mic, so it's not the best, but not bad, and it gives you an idea of what we sound like live and how responsive the crowd was.
Looks like we'll be quite busy, we're already lining-up shows in Houston and other surrounding areas, so if you live in the region, check our site, www.RedVolutionMusic.com for upcoming shows 'n stuff.
I hope you guys are all doing well and happy! Email me if you wanna at [email protected] I've been missing being part of the whacky dialogue here at the JCF!!
XO,
Annah
