> On my way to machine shop school today,I was minding my own business,had the cruise set on 75,with the seat belt on,feeling pretty good. I am making great strides in class,and gaining momentum towards the CNC end of the class. Before I know it,THP is flying up behind me with the blues on. He walks up to the door,like normal,except he had his hand on his gun. His greeting wasn't the normal "hi how are you,do you know how fast you were going?" I expected. "Sir the reason I pulled you over today is because a concerned citizen called and said that you passed them wildly,and had expired tags,will you please put your cigarrette out and step to the rear of the vehicle?" I was shellshocked,and had to ask him to repeat himself 3 different times,before I complied. Sure enough,they were out by about a month,but never got a notice,which they are right on top of most of the time. So I had to call my teacher and inform him,then call my boss in case I'm not out in time for work. I get in the car,cuffs in front,and the trooper let me smoke before I got there,plus didn't tow my car or search it.Then as he was helping me out of the car,I bite down hard and break my partial,so I have to spit the tooth out into my hand in front of him,arousing suspicion,causing a rather embarrassing explanation. I get processed right away,thinking I might be out of here in time to take a nap for work. A few rather restless and uncomfortable hours later,it's time for my arraignment,where I am informed that I am also being charged with 1st offense driving on suspended,no clue how long my license has been suspended,won't know until I call the DMV today. They tell me they will get caught up with the processing of arrests made today as a result of indictments being issued today,then release me as long as I have someone willing to sign for me and pay my bond which was set at 250,10% cash,plus 40.50. I told the jailer,which I knew,that if he gave me 15 minutes on the phone I would have a line of people to do just that. A mere 5 hours later,they agree to let me use a phone to call someone. I call my boss back,and can't get her because she has collect calls blocked from her cell and the store phone. I finally get in touch with her,and she said she was on the way. 90 minutes later,I am starting to pull my hair out,wondering if I'm gonna have to spend the night. Someone finally shows up to claim me,and I start to feel a hair better,still wanting to die of natural causes before my parents find out. Then I get out of the building,and see my mom and dad waiting on me,shaking their heads. "Well at least it's not a felony,otherwise you'd still be there,you'd be popular in jail,big strong boy like you,did you make friends with the Aryans?",this is not what I needed to hear from my dad. I wind up going home and fixing my broken partial,refusing to eat due to being "underserving" of food,taking a shower and going to work,listless and despondant. By the time I got there,it was already assumed that I had been popped for a drug offense,and would have if he searched my car and found my titanium one-hitter and nugget of dank bud in a film can. Soon as I walked in,I told them that contrary to popular belief,it wasn't a drug charge,which got precisely 2 laughs,and caused problems with another coworker that automatically assumes that anything you ask her is something she's being accused of. Pile on top of this the fact that I was only allowed 3 tardies this quarter in school,and missed close to my allotted hours,this puts me over on hours missed and tardies,basically kicking myself right out of school,unless a comittee decides otherwise,then another comittee has to decide on whether I can keep my Pell grant or not,and have no friggin clue on whether this screws me out of the lottery profit scholarship I qualified for,but have not gotten yet. This was my first arrest,and if it kills me,will be my last,cost is just too high,if school falls through I just pissed away a CNC programming job.starting out at 25 an hour,with abundant ovetime,living rent free in my grandparents house. Wohh! Damn man, that fukkin sucks! I can't believe they took you to jail for that sh!t... Did you have any warrants or anything? I've been arrested more times than I can count but not for anything that petty. I got pulled over one time for mismatched plates and the cop found out I had a suspended license. He gave me a ticket for driving while suspended but let me off on the plates.

If you have to go in front of the commitee, just be honest and try to explain what happened...

Holy sh1t!
You got to be careful.. who knows there is someone stupid reporting the police for unknown reasons.
I have never been in jail but visited once to get my employee out after she had a huge fight with her boyfriend and pilice put her in jail...

Dude, this sucks. Take it as a wake up call and get your act together. Please don't take this the wrong way. I am not preaching here. As I see it this could have porbably been avoided if you were going a little slower. Having your license and plates up to date is not the responsibility of the DMV. It is our responsibility. They usually send out reminders, but you should be aware of when your plates and license expire.
