Counter Steering? No, I was just talking about "backin it in" in the post above. In that you are bringing the back end of the bike around.
Counter Steering means that to turn right, you make your initial input to the bars in the opposite direction.
Now, that's not saying "turn left to go right", like steering a car backwards. I'm saying the initial input is in the opposite direction. In our example, to go right quickly, push the right bar away from you, or conversly, pull the left bar towards you. The bike will start to lean right, quickly. As soon as it does, the wheels track in line again and the bike will continue its turn to the right.
Cool, huh? That's how you get bikes to change direction so fast. It takes some muscle at high speeds, and that leads to next weeks lesson, the difference between changing direction and turning.
