On Monday night, Crankdaddy played in the Second Annual "Battle of the Ad Bands" in New York City.
Last year we played at the legendary CBGBs, this year at no-less-legandary Irving Plaza.
As the title suggests, it was all bands made up of people from advertising agencies. There were 10 bands in all, and Crankdaddy took home Third Place!
We were lucky because we were the last band to play, so we closed the show with a bang: I smashed a guitar on stage. Here's a quick shot of me mid-Townsend:
You can't really see, but it's a BC Rich Bich (Bronze series) I'm smashing. Here's a little tip for anyone who's thinking about smashing a guitar onstage:
DON'T USE A PLYWOOD GUITAR. Plywood does NOT shatter like you want it to. I smashed this guitar hard like six times, and the neck didn't even separate from the body. No lie. It's now hanging on the wall of my office -- a reminder of a crowd well-rocked.
Anyway, thanks for lettin a brutha share. Rockin' is fun.
