From the sounds of the lack of a scene and musicians, let alone people to appreciate you, combined with what sounds like a bunch of rank amatures (decided to go on early? WTF??) you're forced to play with, screw them. Walk now. It ain't worth it. There's nothing to salvage, no face to save.

Sorry it's like that Rick. But, I'd have to agree with Chuck. Yes, the other guys are saying the right stuff by saying "do the right thing" etc, that "is" right.

But, I'd say Chuck summed it up. They seem to have the bases covered with their lame guitar playing asses. Screw em'.

Thanks guys . This mess has gotten my so upset over the past two weeks that I can't sleep and other unhealty stuff.

I know that sounds kind of gay but , combined with all the medicine and crap I take for my back and Diabetes this has just been a major stress issue.

I have felt a lot better since I just decided that I'm not doing those gigs, but the hardest part for me is yet to come. I can't tell my friend ( the Drummer) that I'm not\can't do those gigs until Tuesday when he gets back from Nevada and the gig is on Friday. So it won't officially be over till then.

Just to make myself feel better, I may start a horroble clips page and post all their fuckups for you guys to laugh at [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] HAHAHAHA!

You have to be It is bad to leave the band hanging having those gigs lined up if you want to quit but on the other hand it is worse to go out and make a bunch of mistakes. If you have a bunch ofmistakes on tape and they listen to them and not want to be thier own critic, they are honesly hopless.

Play the gigs, and walk up to the mic after every song and mention who made what fukkups in that song. They'll be ready to release you from your commitment before long.

Sounds like the new guy has good weed or blow and is sharing it with the others, or they've found their suckass soulmate. Since they all sort of suck, a decent player like you may actually embitter them. "You're just playing the sh1t right to make US look bad, man!"... (in whiny loser-stoner muso voice).

Sorry it didn't work out for you. This is why I don't play in bands anymore either. It's even worse when the members can play but are just psychotic assholes. Then you have the pleasure of sounding good tearing against the pain of dealing with psycho dumbass fuckheads!

He didn't technically F*** up Paranoid, he couldn't start it to mess it up and after 6 weeks you would of thought that would be one of the first songs he knew. And yes, after a year I have finnally realized they are hopeless.

I learned all 50 of their stupid tunes before I asked to do one and all I wanted to do was play Man on the Silver Mountain. I'm sure all of you would agree that is a rather easy song. The singer could do it and it wasn't too bad, but the rest is easy guitar and bass wise.

We played it 8 times and they never got it right once!!! So I had to decide that I couldn't go on masacreing a great song any more [img]/images/graemlins/nono.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

They had 2 orginal songs before I joined , but they were so lame that we only plyed them like one or 2 times out the first gigs I did with them.

I can sit here and call them all the names I want and say they suck, and rant, but when all is done ( yes I still think they are backstabbers) My honest musical opinion is this.....

I have been playing for over 15 years and people wh hear me play can tell that I have been playing for a while. It was like I was playing with guys who had been playing for only about 3 years in the bass players case and who just have no ear at all in the case of the singer. Like anyone who knows " When I come around" knows that it is G D E C, well when I'm playing the C at the end and the bass player is playing a B ! and the singer says , That sounded fine to me, well you get the idea.

Just add to that the lack of un professionalism - going on early and not telling the sound guy, playing songs that we only did once at practice and sounded horrible, and just saying stuff like it doens't matter wht we sound like , the crowd is drunk....etc. It just all came to a head when they put the new guy up there after 2 practices and he messed up everything.

hey man, just tell them, your not doing it anymore cuase its no longer about having fun with your friends.

go home, buy a drum machine, and wright your own original songs. advertise them on the net. start and underground following. and don't worry about playing live. playing gigs in your home town is only good for pleasing the ego. play your cards right and you'll have guys wanting to join your band and play your tunes the way you wrote them.

if its no fun, walk away.
songwriting is far superior to jamming if you truly are about the music and not the scene.
