I seem to be this rare type of person around here that beleives that having the fun playing is accomplished by sounding good and doing your best.

I also feel ripped off when I have to pay 6.00 to get in and see a band and they suck! Now I'm kinda doing it to people [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I have totally decided that I'm not doing the shows [img]/images/graemlins/refuse.gif[/img] , cause honestly, it would probably only be the one show that is next week. Their next gig isn't till November, so If the two idiots ( the singer and the other guitar player) can't get it together by then, well you get it.

It's kind of sad, but I am a vindictive (SP? ) and revevgeful kind of person, and I have never done anything but try to make this band the best that it could be, and they have never been proffesional about anything, so here is my ONE BIG FINAL UNPROFESSIONAL MOVE .. HAHAHAHAHA!

Victory shall be mine! They can play swallow the stuff under the sink for all I care.

I don't think that telling them to F-off, is vindictive or revengeful. If they are so stupid as to dis you (the one guy in the band that cares whether the band sounds good) like that, they deserve to not have your presence in the band.

I saw a situation here with another member before very similar to this and can't remember who it was. The other guys in his band were slackers and were bringing in their slacker buddies and dissing him. It was probably because the slackers were easier to work with, as slackers work best when slacking along together amongst other fellow slackers. He was the proverbial squeaky wheel that was, heaven forbid, wanting them to actually work hard and sound good!!! So much easier when everyone is with the slacking program, and sounding badly in unison.

They don't deserve you bro... And sometimes this bullshit isn't worth the stress. This, is pretty much why I myself am sitting at home playing alone as well. There are few, to no worthy musicians in this town that are worth me taking my time to do something with. I just don't have the patience or energy anymore to F-around with dumbasses who don't really care whether they are sounding as good as they could. Why drag expensive equipment out and work hard when the rest of a band doesn't care.

Thanks ! You hit it right on the nose. The only thing that I am upset\sorry about is that I played Ice Hockey and couldn't do that anymore cause of my back, and then all I wanted to do was to play out and have some fun. That could have happened and I must say there were a FEW shows that we did Rock, but that was with my brother in the band.

Now , I'm back to nothing to do anymore, nothing to work on or get ready for. It just sucks haveing some talent to do things, like the hockey or the music and not being able to to do anything with it.

I would do the rest of the gigs and split. Take the stix man too. If the dude sucks that bad, bye bye. Sounds like he is a legend in his own mind. BTW- I would turn up a little extra for those last few gigs. Sounds like you'll be better off anyway. Good luck!

I told some other kats on the forum this story, don't know if I mentioned in this thread or not.

If your not me [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] ,this has got to be the funniest stupidist thing you ever heard , we had this big show on Labor day, supposed to be 300 people there BLA BLA, 20 minutes till we go on, he breaks a bass string. IT was the E string , and he says, " I don't have another one" Do you have an E string I can use. I was like Nope, although I did.

The fool was gonna use a guitar string on his bass [img]/images/graemlins/eyes.gif[/img]

Oh and no he didn't have another Bass either. So the genius proceeds to put his low B string on in place of the E, tunes it up way past where it should be and the thing was out of tune BAD the whole time. But he thought we had a great show.

The dude talks about Syncopation all the time, and to be honest I didn't know what it was, but when I did look it up, from what I gather it means to play on the And, such as 1 AND 2 And 3 AND 4.

Come to find out the Bass line to Crazy train in the verses is just such an example and he couldn't do it !
