• Trouble saving custom shop generator creations

I need help! No matter what I've tried I can't save my custom shop guitars. I followed NOTP's info from his post and nothing works. When I'm finished with the guitar, I hit alt+prtscr and open paint and hit cntrl+v to paste and the screen goes white with a grey border. I'm not very computer savvy so any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes, he already knows about my topic and has already contacted me about this strange problem, but I didn't have a solution. Guys, help, please. Perhaps then, Sully can add the solution to my topic to remedy future situations like this. Thank you!

when you are viewing the page of generator, hit the print scr, then click open "paint"
Then click edit tag, then hit Paste.

That didn't work either. When I tried that, the paste option wasn't available. When I hit prt scr nothing happens. Should there be some kind of indication that the prt scr captured the image, such as data light being active?

okay... I just tried this...

What I did was hit just the print screen button
Then I minimumized the screen (I dunno, I just always do that in case I have to come back to it)

Then I opened paint
Then went up to edit and clicked "paste" from the scroll down menu.

Worked fine. Hmmm...

Em

P.S. Waiiiit... I think this is what dinky just said..

okaay... what about when you're in the generator (that sounds weird) if you have internet explorer go up to Edit and click on "Select All".
Then open paint, go to Edit and select "Paste". That worked too.

Good luck.

I just can't figure out what it is. I have tried everything mentioned, but nothing. I have always minimized and went to paint too. Fuuuuuugggggh, this is really frustrating. I think I need a big sledgehammer...maybe that will work

DAMN computer! That didn't work either. The paste option isn't available, only "paste from". I think my computer hates me It's about to be "Hammer-Time" I think.

I just had an epiphany. I realized that PERHAPS your Printscreen key is shared with another function. For example, I have a Microsoft multimedia keyboard where the PrtScn key is also an Insert key. To change between the two functions, I have to hit the F Lock (Function Lock) key. Perhaps yours is set on Insert or some other function other than the Printscreen that you want.

I have a HP computer and keyboard. The key has "prt scr" on the top side and "sysrq" and the bottom. I have tried shifting the function with the shift key and with caps lock. Is this "F lock" key your speaking about?

Re: Trouble saving custom shop generator creations

I have three different "Lock" keys on my keyboard. There's the Caps Lock and the Num Lock like most keyboards have, and then there's the F Lock that I'm talking about.

By the way, my Printscreen key also has SysRq on the bottom as well. See this picture:

http://www.ixbt.com/short/2k2-09/09-03hardware7_l.jpg

You can see the F Lock key right above the number pad on the right.

Crap, sorry my epiphany didn't help you out.

Re: Trouble saving custom shop generator creations

I can't see the pic, not authorized to view it says. My keyboard has caps lock, num lock and scroll lock. The scroll lock is beside the prt scr key. I don't know? I guess I'll just have to draw my guitars on "paint" from scratch. Nothing seems to work.

Thanks for trying to help,

Okay.... try this...

Go into the generator and open your screen

Go to edit and click on select all
Then click on copy

Open paint
Go to edit and click on paste

OR

Go into the generator and open your screen.
Hit the print screen button (we have the same keyboard- there is no F button. Its a dual function key and either application works according to what you're doing). Anyway- hit that button. There will be no indication that anything "worked". I know, its weird.

Then go to edit and click on copy

Open paint
Go to edit and click on paste

If THAT doesn't work- then I don't know what to tell ya man! How crazy!
