A friend of mine was in a bad car wreck 2 months ago and broke both his legs, crushed his sternum, lacerated his liver, ruptured his spleen and he had a collapsed lung. He was in a coma for 2 weeks and then came out of it and was making a great recovery, he still needed a trachea tube to breath. He was transferred to a nursing home for round the clock care and last night somebody at the nursing home forgot to aspirate the trachea tube and he choked to death. I still can't believe he survived all his injuries to die because some moron didn't do their job!!! [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

i'm sorry jack.
my pal bernie was doing 110 in his bmw and flipped the car
horrendously. he broke everybone in his body but lived to tell the tale, until 3 days later. he died from an allergic reaction to the pain medicine they gave him. i was fukkin' pissed. you survive something as sick as that and then he dies from something that was supposed to help.

My condolences, Jack. I know what you're going through.
My family suffered a double loss last week of two very close relatives. Both blood and friendship-wise, I mean. A car crash that should have been survivable. I continue to choke up when thinking about the horrific way in which such great people passed, and having to bear their caskets. I probably always will. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
