I know we all need to whine sometimes though and you are certainly entitled to.That situation is highly suckable.I would try that Nu-Skin or second skin product. I have heard of more than one player using super glue though.

Is there any chance of trying some different strings? I don't really know but I've heard that there are strings like Elixir that have coatings on them.

I third the Krazy Glue or Super Glue idea! And maybe go with the lightest strings you can
at a lower tuning, for the least pressure possible on your fingers. Find a way, Chuck; the guitar is such a morale booster! You know you have much love behind you from me and the rest of the JCF brothers!

I hope you can work this one out Chuck, you love gear like no one I know. Trying lighter strings like Iommi might help as well. I like my 10's, but I'd play on 8's if I had to.

Years ago, when I was 16 or so (we're talkin YEARS ago!), I mis-judged the spacing of two trees while blasting thru the woods on my dirtbike. Broke the ring finger on my left hand. Not an important finger for a guitar player, right?!

I asked the doctor to use a chrome splint, and as soon as I got home, I removed the tape and just taped the top and bottom, leaving the center open.

My slide playing improved immensly that month!

Hey Chuck, you outta hear me play, then you'll feel much less insecure about your fingertip-less playing...I like to play as if I don't have fingers at all! But I'm sure you'll get thru it just fine. A lot of things may suck when you're on dialysis, but it's like my grandfather says (he has been on dialysis himself a number of times)..."It's better than the alternative..."
