• Talledega!

Did anybody else watch this race? Dale Jr. is a friggin amazing driver! 4 laps left and he moves from 11th to first!!! Helluva race!

Re: Talledega!

He also had a damn good running car. I loved when he commented in victory lane with "don't mean shite" in reference to his 5 wins compared to his dad's 10 wins. Junior needs to split his winnings with his buddy Michael W.

Overall, it was a great race. I did get tired of the whining from Jeff Gordon because no one would help him.

Re: Talledega!

That was fukking amazing. After that last caution, I though he wouldn't finish in the top ten. He drove like his Dad in those last 4 laps, then again, he drove like Jr!

How about Saddler flipin again. He's going to have to start sittin this one out if this happens again next year.

Was Gordon Whining? Or was it the commentary? You can't win Talledega without a friend pushin and he had no friends today. At least when it counted.

I really like this new playoff style points race. It was a good call for Nextel.

Well this was the most exciting race so far this year! I couldn't believe Sadler... He needs to rethink how he races this track...

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, and let's not forget how many times he's encouraged other drivers not to help Jr. . There's been plenty of times when once Waltrip's out (or in the back) Jr.'s got nobody to help, yet still stays in front. Gordon's a hell of a driver but can be a very whiny bitch when it doesn't go in his favor.

Yeah! Great race. I am a Gordon fan. Jr. Drove the hell outta that car. Nascar is talking about taking 25 points from Jr. For saying Shitt. !!! Come on! He was excited. It happens and slips out sometimes but to take the points lead from him????

It also seemed to me that JG wasn't whinning but the comentators were making a HUGE deal out of it. I don't recall ever hearing on the car radio or after the race of JG complaining... He seemed thankful to have finished the race after the accident(s) on the last lap.

Sadler! Damn! He is one lucky and unlucky guy - Huh!

http://www.nascar.com/2004/news/head...rse/index.html

That is the article about Jr. Possibly looking at losing the points.

CBS got hit with over $500,000 dollars worth of fines for the incident with JJ at the Super Bowl so I guess if NBC gets fines NASCAR will probably take the point lead from him as punishment.

Jr. said his cse of swearing is different than the others that have been fined in the past for swearing because his was out of joy.... Hmmmm. Guess we will see what they do tomorrow.

If he gets the points taken away than that will take his lead....

Re: Talledega!

A fine for NBC? Ok,but to take 25 points away? that makes no sense. Why don't they just turn around and fine him?

I swear to God this sensorship BULLSHIT is getting to me. No doubt he shouldn't have sworn, but who was at the button? Should it really be his responsibility to "be careful" in the winners circle? Seems like it should have been the networks responsibility.

Junior may be in a bind since those other two drivers were fined and penalized points. Thanks for the article link.

Well after the Janet incident, I thought there was supposed to be a 2 second delay on all live broadcasts so they bleep anything they thought they needed too??? Taking points away is Bullshit! Fine him if they want to but, taking points away that they worked all season to get so they could be in these races just isn't fair to the drivers!

Look at it this way, what if he loses the points and then loses the championship by 20 points! would any of those other drivers really want to win based on Jr swearing? I don't get it. What is this country coming to!!!!

[/ QUOTE ] Don't get me wrong, He is one hell of a driver and I'm not taking away from that. I did hear a radio transmission from him though where he stated something to the effect of he didn't have any friends out here, no one wants to help him at all, but then what's new? That was not a direct quote, but the jist of the comment. I do think he's got a great shot at the championship, though. Jimmie took a huge hit, though and lost 5 places . That sucks for him (and Gordon). Oh well, it should be interesting. All in all, I'm not a huge fan of the Super Speedways. I'm more of a Bristol and once in a while, Atlanta kind of guy . My favorite driver isn't even in the chase . Hint: He probably won't drive the big brown truck..........

Ah, a fellow Jarrett fan. It's too bad he didn't make the chase. His season has been filled with terrible luck. I still can't believe he hasn't won a race this year. I may get torched for this, but I think Jr. is overrated. Sure he's a good driver, but everywhere you look it's Jr. this and Jr. that. There are alot of other good young drivers in the mix too. I think before it's over Gordon, and Jr. are going to have a hell of a fight with Kurt and Matt, don't count out Mark either. Can you tell that I bleed Ford blue yet
Yeah, the taking away of points for cursing is stupid(a product of this increasing PC world)but I do think that Earnhardt should be penalized as the others were for the same type of incident. It would not be fair if Nascar didn't. It was mentioned that the other drivers would not want to beat Earnhardt for the championship because of points taken away for cursing, but I don't think Earnhardt would want to win it because of no points taken away when another driver was penalized for the same thing.
