"Yes,..that's when they used to shove a red hot spike in your peehole until you screamed "yes, yes, godammit ..you fuggin' dicks..I'm a witch..I am witch..you cocksuckers"" horns666
ZZ Top with Black Crowes opening in 1991 at the Rosemont in IL...I was 11. Killer show...that was back when they put on "shows"...not just coming out and playing with a banner in the b/g.
Journey at Detroit's Cobo arena in 1979. My mom dropped me and a buddy off. It was a moving experience joints going by from both directions from people we didn't even know From that point on I knew I wanted to play guitar and perform live.
Anthrax on the Among The Living tour (at the Capitol Theater in Passaic, NJ). I think it was '87 or '88, so I had to be 14 or 15. Celtic Frost and Exodus opened.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
Cheap Trick in 1982 with Uriah Heep opening - still got the shirt
That wasn't really an arena, though - it was a smallish theater called the Saenger Theater in New Orleans. First bona-fide sports-arena concert was at the University Of New Orleans Lakefront Arena, and I don't remember who it was
The bands I saw there (not in order) were:
WASP with someone, or opening for someone, can't recall, but it was a trip (first album)
AC/DC with Queensryche opening (Maximum Overdrive tour)
Stryper with Rocketboy opening (In God We Trust)
Iron Maiden and someone I just don't remember (Powerslave)
Ozzy and somebody (Ultimate Sin)
Twisted Sister and Dokken (Stay Hungry)
Alice Cooper and G-N-R (Raise Your Fist And Yell)
Judas Priest and somebody (Turbo)
Motley Crue and either G-N-R or someone else for Theater of Pain, and Girls Girls Girls with G-N-R
I think that's it.
I saw these bands at the Colosseum in Biloxi:
Motley Crue (Girls, like a week after the first one )
DLR and Krokus (Eat Em and Smile, and the guy from Krokus had a totally Glow In The Dark Strat of some sort)
Whitesnake and somebody (Still Of The Night - whatever) with Viv and V-berg
Ozzy again for the Ultimate Sin tour like a week after the other one
There were probably a couple or more I'm forgetting
The Saenger was small, but had the single best concert ever - Accept, Keel, Helix, and Lillian Axe (before they got signed) in one show - 5 hours of Metal
I also saw Y&T with someone there once - can't recall who but I do remember the giant chrome Robo-Dude in the Hot Pink Speedo
Every time the guy turned and caught the lights in the armor, everyone in the joint went blind
Also saw the Stray Cats there - damn good show.

I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
Hell, that was back in the late 60's. It's a little foggy. I did go to Altamont. That was "The Bummer of Love." Actually I had a good time.
