I like baseball I guess, but I LOVE football, it's way better And...it's OU 3 and TX 0 at the half Sukisyn

I love watching most sports... baseballs fun to watch at a bar; grab a few beers, play some pool, etc. It's not the best sport to watch if you're not a fan of a particular team though... I enjoy watching soccer, football, and basketball no matter who's playing, but when it comes to baseball I usually just watch the sox and yankees.

[ QUOTE ]
My son and I were regularly throwing the baseball around and doing some batting. One day he asks if he can sign up for a team. So I thought I'd be cool and took him to a MLB game so he could get a sense of the game. As a result of seeing the pro's my son plays basketball and soccer. He kept asking me "when are they going to get to the fun part with hitting and stuff?" and "is that all they do, just stand there?".

I think "professional" ball sports in general are a huge part of the demise of our society. I don't support any of them. I think it's pretty sad that we choose to pay some illiterate dumfuk more money to throw a stupid ball around than we pay our own president to run our country. Playing ball should be for fun with our kids, not a mega trillion dollar business. It's stupid.

Re: whoever does not like baseball is

I'm a sports nut and a competitive person. I don't miss out on important things to watch them tho I played them all. I think for me growing up being the youngest of 5 kids in a neighborhood of kids older than me, the only way I got respect was to by being better than the older kids. Being 7 and getting picked to play football, baseball and hockey over 10-13yr olds was a cool thing. In my teens and high school era I think I'd be dead or in jail if I didn't play organized sports

Watching a Cardinal - Cubs weekend series at Wrigley in the bleachers is FAR from boring. I believe Tekky is not a baseball fan either , but I'm sure he will support my findings..

You're correct Dave. Despite the proximity of my abode to Wrigley Field, I am, in fact, not a baseball fan in the least. Tommy and I are gonna have to have a talk when I come out there for NAMM in January...

I live about a mile from Jacobs Field and about 2 miles from Cleveland Browns Stadium, and have never set foot in either. I guess from the way they play, that's probably for good reason, haha...

Actually there's a big difference in MY opinion. Music is an art, a means of self expression, it paints a picture that can sometimes last a lifetime, and it's all about sharing those feelings with the world. You find a song that you like and you listen to it over and over for years without ever growing tired of it. That's what a musician does. A musician provides something unique, personal, and thought provoking, and it is an extension of their own heart, soul, and life experiences that they choose to share with the rest of the world. There are many many great musicians out there who aren't making much money, but still continue to give. That's a labor of love my friends. They are the folks I'll give my money to.
Ball players? eh....any dumfuk with some muscles, practice, physical agility, and some pressure from Dad & the Coach can be good at playing ball. A bunch of grown men out there playing with a little ball.......now isn't that impressive! Hell, they don't even have to know how to spell their own name! They do have to memorize the rules and do what the coach says though...WoW! What a bunch of fukkin morons!
Oh, and if you want this to get deeper I'll start talking about the bunch of fukking stupid overweight couch potatoes that won't leave the house on Sunday afternoon or Monday evening because "a game is on". Why don't you get out there and play a game of catch with your kids??? Teach them that it's a fun game to play, but not to be taken too seriously. Then after you've mastered that, why don't you get off wellfare and get a job???? You better spend some time teaching your children how to have fun, learn to talk properly (or at least express themselves in an intelligent manner), and how to add and subtract numbers. Someday they're going to grow up and realize that they aren't the 1 in 1,000,000 that get a high paying job playing ball, so they'll get a job at McDonalds. They'll have you to thank! Don't ya feel good about that?
What's the average lifespan of a ball players career? 15 years max? Then what are they gonna do....make TV commercials selling dish soap?
That's because after a relatively short career they are nothing but has-beens.
Compare this to musicians. How many professional musicians can you name that are in their 50's, still popular, selling records, and still making a decent living? Now compare that number to the ex-ball players that anyone gives a crap about (except collecting cards!)
But what do I know, I'm just a raggedy assed mechanic.
