According to you Yankee fans we've already lost. So we really don't care. I'd say keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff is going to come down for quite some time now.

I must admit, it was pretty pitiful, but I can't tell if those were pictures of the fans pleading for the Red Sox to start doing something or for the "God Bless America" girl to catch up to the 2 measure.

"They're (the Boston Red Sox) a walking disaster. They act like they're tough, how they care so much about winning, but it's all a front. They're just a bunch of characters."

Apparently individuals on your team are just as good at it as Schilling.

As I diehard Yanks fan, I never get involved in these debates, as I prefer to just watch the games, but I thought that I would share this : bogus quote

I don't think that Shef would be stupid enough to give the opposing team more motivation, do you??? That said, we'll be done with all of this tonight...Go Yanks!!!!

You Yankee fans never do. Your team is always nothing but good. They can do no wrong. Kind of like the parent you want to punch in the face as there kid annoys everyone around them as they stand there ingore it and do nothing. And us Boston fans unfortunately have to watch those dumpy looking Yankee fans with their moronic "1918" and "whose your daddy" chants. The reason you never see a Yankee fan praying for a win is because they all turn their backs and walk out of the stadium when they are losing. Now that is what I call pitiful and pathetic. Fukking fair weather fans.

I know you were saying that tongue and cheek, but you need to know how hard it is to be a Red Sox fan in this city. You feel it everywhere. It's all anybody talks about, thinks about, etc. This happens year after year much farther back than I can remember! I do think about what it will be like when the day comes that we do finally win a WS and what it will be like around here. I mean, I don't even think Chicago fans compare to Sox fans as they haven't been as close as we have and as many times over the last 86 years. I would love to say that "its just a game", but it's more than that here. I would rather see the Sox win the WS once than have the Patriots win the Super Bowl 10 times! While we Bostonians do this to ourselves year in, year out -I'm not sure I would have it any other way.Admittedly, we are a masochistic lot.
I was at the game last night and while public displays of praying to ones diety are not my bag, as a fan living here I can understand it and it doesn't look so out of place to us.
That being said, I'll go public here and say "Oh Almighty God, if you are bored with creation and all and would do me a favor, could you please have Capt. Caveman, Bellhorn and Manny get some hits so we can finally win the big one? I'll never ask anything of you ever again - promise. OK, one more, please make Matsui go hitless in the next couple of games and Veritek's catchers mit be planted in Sheffields face? It's all I ask."

you can't sum up a yankee fan or a sox fan. there are many types. assholes, bandwagoners, playoff time onlyies, educated, uneducated, know it alls, know nothings, there for the pure appreciation of the game, there for the booze and food, the list goes on and on. all i know is that my dad got us season tickets for 14 years and he used to hang me by my ankles over the left field wall during batting practice to catch the rollers going by in the '70's. i bleed motherfukkin' pinstripes baby, and god damnit we are going to take this series no matter what. that is the way it has to be, the gods of baseball have it pre-ordained.
i'm sorry, it's a fact.
