I feel for ya Em...before we moved, our downstairs neighbor was all into that BOOM BOOM BOOM ****...talk about driving you insane and back....I think there at the end him and his mom got the picture when I would BLAST some bluegrass (mainly Dr Ralph Stanley) at 7am when they were trying to go to bed (they worked nights). I guess it really doesnt matter what type of music you play when your car stereo is loud as hell, it still has that BOOM BOOM BOOM...When Sam is in a good mood I can hear him coming a few minutes before he gets home, and its always Ratt or Ozzy that hes blaring...but it still has that BOOM BOOM BOOM....
Oh believe me- I've tried. In English AND in Spanish. There is no reasoning with these people. The cops couldn't give a flying fukk. I don't know if CPC has looked into them or not. I got rocks thrown at my truck for telling one visiting family member (who parks his semi in the street- WITH his load in between runs) to turn down his "music" he was blasting in the middle of the day. I could hear it all the way back in my studio, WITH my headphones on even.
They are all just stupid- the whole lot of them.
I don't understand why the rest of the neighbors don't do anything. Its an otherwise quiet and classy street.
But that poor child, that is what irritates me the most. There's no way I can sit back and watch someone be so stupid with their kids, but there's only so much you can do. I have never seen so many neglected children than the ones I have seen here in west Texas. NOBODY cares. I saw some kids (little... age 2 and 3) sitting in a car in a parking lot in the middle of august. Windows rolled down, at least. I went into the store and told the manager about the kids- did my shopping, came out, kids STILL THERE.
Its crazy. People do things differently here.
I see bilingual signs all over the place educating people about neglect. Yeah, I don't know how much of an impact they make.
Our street isn't too bad with the boom booms... the barrios start a few miles away, but you can hear them on the road and hear the fiestas and mariachi bands late into the night. I don't mind the mariachi bands, they're pretty cool.

When I get a new neighbor on my one side ( a renter) ..I establish myself immediately ...so far I had three tenants moved next door ...not before I kick a few asses and pulled my piece as well ...I think I established myself.
One thirty second meeting with me in the flkesh ...is all I need to "establish" myself..
On my street everybody knows who I am , what I can do , and what I will do ...
and I rarely have any problems..not any problems I can't handle ..
and this is someone who plays Death Metal as loud as hell at band practice ...not one complaint ..in fact they love it!!
But my neighbors and me have a good relationship ...they know I'm here if they need me and I look out for the good folks and the elderly..and they love me for it ...buy me and my family Christmas gifts and everything..every year!
Example , I had to whip some ass because a few dickheads ...like you just described was giving this poor old lady a hard time ...this lady lived here for 70 years ...I'll be damned if some ghetto rental scrotum sucker is going to give her a hard time ...they moved ...I made them move ..I insisted on it...they had no choice!
when I give an order to a neighbor ...they keep it ...or well ...then they must deal with it ...that's not a good option.
This is my home ..I paid big money for it ...my family lives here ...this is MY neighborhood for the long haul ...not some glorified low life squatters just passin' thru ...fukk them!

I'd call CPC and notify them of the problem.
If they do nothing, crank the amp but have your gun ready; you will be informing the scum that you have valuable music gear they could steal and fence. Of course under my Administration gear theft would be a capital crime, execution to be by drawing and quartering. That's when you tie the arms and legs to 4 different horses and then make them giddyup! That seems sufficiently painful, yet would only last a few minutes so it's not too cruel! We should maintain some of our medieval traditions for such heinous crimes.

Moving every couple years as we do, its hard to develop any kind of rapport with neighbors. Our last base we were there for 4 years and the entire neighborhood HATED us except for our buddies across the way.
I just would not put up with sh!t from anyone- especially in base housing where there are strict rules to follow. Sergeants and Airmen should NOT live together. It does not work.
I had this one neighbor that decided he was going to be the gardner on the block... came over and chopped the hell out of my tree. It looked hideous and completely exposed the birds that were living in it. And it was MY tree in MY yard. Moron.
I was spitting blood I was so pissed- ran out there and chewed him up and down and all over in front of all of his beer guzzling buddies. He wouldn't talk to me again for months and avoided me like the plague.

We got some total inbred losers one time- oh.. the stories I could tell about those folks. We got them kicked out of housing and he was grounded (a flier) for breaking noise rules and for his wife leaving their baby alone in the house while she went out.
I hate neighbors. Maybe one day our karma will turn and we will have some cool ones. Its not like we are horrible, noisy people- so I don't get it.

A woman I work with said her neighbor was blaring some redneck crap all day, and it was driving her and her husband insane. So they got into "stereo wars" with the guy with Slipknot, Staind, and some other Gnu-Metal stuff, but the guy didn't care. This is why I'm glad I live on a acre of land with trees. Most new homes around here starting @ 400K are built so close together you could jump roof to roof. Looks like a monopoly board.
