  • Ragged Out Case Blues

I recently bought a vintage Gibson and the outside of the case is in extremely bad condition. Huge sections on the covering are gone, exposing bare wood. I want to get the case recovered (99% chance I will) by a professional. Will this affect the resale at some later date? Will potential buyers balk when they ask for the original hardshell case and I tell them it's been recovered?

Personally, I would think any guitar buyer would want to keep their instrument in the best conditions possible. Any thoughts or comments?

Hey Mark, How old is the case and guitar?

Hey Brad, vintage may have not been the best term to use even though the guitar and case are 23 years old. I used that term based on the rarity of the finish and the number produced.
