Curse, jinx, bad luck, whatever you want to call it - - 86 years is a long time in any sport to not win a championship. I'm 40 and got to see the Tigers (2), Pistons (3), Red Wings(3) win Championships. Now if we can only get the Lions to win a Super Bowl or two...

this world series blows large meat wand. i've gotten more excitement reading the nutritional value of milk duds on the side of the box. i was expecting some baseball.
me and my missile of a right arm will be at the cardinals camp next spring. i have found my calling.

Shawn do you really want to talk about Bad Luck? Really come to Chicago. Sure teh 85 bears were one of the Alltime great teams no doubt but they couldn't repeat. Aside from the domination the Bulls had what else has Chicago had... Nothing a few good playoff chokes by the Hawks Cubs and Sox. Now we are literally in the NHL maybe the worst team in the NBA bottom 5 in teh NFL bottom 5 and next year in the MLB mid levela t best for both teams IMO. Cubs will look better because of starting pitching etc. Now these Boston fans at least have the Pats!

outside of game one, when the cards actually showed a pulse,
the sox have led the whole way.

I guess if I were a fan of a team other than the Sox I would probably feel that way. But after going through as much as the Sox have it seems a nice way of going about it. Not that it's over, but we were all but one game away from being eliminated. Coming back against the Yankees to be able to play in the world series with a team that has 105 wins on the regular season and the Sox making it look like they have been a 110+ regular season win team is nice. I don't know what happened. But all of a sudden even Francona looks like he knows what he's doing and been doing it that way all season. Maybe they figured since they were 0-3 they should just f it and play.

it's great for sox fans, it's what they have been waiting for. but for someone who loves baseball from the the outside, it has been a letdown. i thought it had the makings of a good series. the cards are a joke. there will be no comeback, they don't have one pitcher who can hold the sox down. maybe the sox are supposed to win it on the road, if they won it at home fenway might have crumbled.

I wouldn't say it's been a let down for all of them. Some none Sox fans are actually rooting for the Sox to win. Just because there needs to be a change in the routine I think. Next season Tampa and Baltimore will be even better and the Sox and Yankees will have their work cut out for them. Unless the curse of the Soriano is real. lol There's going to be a lot of off season hype like last year. Lots of good free agents out there and George will try to acquire every single one. The 40,000 man roster would guarantee him a series. Thing is with the exception of Beltran I have heard most don't want to go to NY. Look for quite a few Yankee position players to take a hike.

I am just pissed that the White Sox didn't make a play for Beltran this year if Kenny was as serious as he said he was. Ah well Carlos like Mags would have most likely left anyway. I half expect Magglio to be Yankee he won't even give the Sox reports on his knee at all. That will help the Yanks and if they land Carlos I don't see what else they need... Funny thing is they would pay all those guys.

If they get Beltran I don't think they would have room in the outfield. I would think they will send Lofton packing. If they sent Bernie packing that would be lower than low. Matsui and Sheffield aren't going anywhere.

That's exactly why it means so much to beat the Yankees! Sure, we have blown /missed our chances over the years, but that's because we have them in our division and they have really been a thorn for the Sox for the last 86 years with them being our direct competition for many of those years.

Much like all those Knicks and Pacers teams who could never get past the Bulls during their glory years. Take MJ and the Bulls out of the picture and you could have had many championships for both teams during that time period.
