The 85' Series is where the ump called the Crads runner out when he was really safe by about half a foot, against KC

THe umps made the same calls for the Cards. He was obviously a pitchers ump in a big way. Some were almost a foot off the plate. And supposedly MLB sends their best to playoffs and the Championship. How sad of a statement is that.

Funny thing is, during the playoffs the strike box is supposed to be tighter.

It wouldn't be that bad, if the umps were the least bit consistent, but they're not. And it appeared to me, and obviously I'm partial and biased a bit, but it happened more with our big guns than it did for the guys at the bottom of the order.

There's one thing that really bothers me about the WS so far and I don't know where the fault lies, but each and every questionable pitch, or called strike or ball to the "Sox" is "never" shown on a replay to put the myth to rest. I do know that sometimes camera angles can be tricky and perhpas a handful of what I call balls and the ump calls a strike could very well be a strike, but there's no replay shown, this is the WS, there should be tons of replays, but they're just not.

In the NLCS, they replayed pitch after pitch after pitch and you could easily tell what was what there. Not in the WS tho. And numerous times in the NLCS, I'd call a ball, and the ump would call a strike, only to see a replay and to see that the call was good, but they're not giving us this in the WS...

Oh well, it was a great game, circus acts and all. WTF's wrong with Mueller and Varitek? They just get out of Little League? [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img]

The city was a madhouse this weekend. The Head Of The Charles Regatta, and parents weekend locks up the city. This isn't some podunk town where there might be a city college or something, there is BU, BC, Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, UMASS, etc. Besides the normal city life, you have people from all over the world here for that weekend every year. Add on to that the WS and there are going to be some issues. Whatever, when teams lose they tend to make excuses. Sorry Cards fans, but that sh*t is low rent to bitch about.

Don't worry about accomodations for the team playing in the World Series, they don't count for anything, especially not any revenue around there in Boston aye? I suppose the mummies and duddies spend more than the WS brings in....
