I read that SNL edited it for the west coast. Took out the vocal track in the beginning. It makes it look like the band did start to play the wrong song so her lame apology that blamed the band sounds credible. Too bad for them that the unedited version is all over the web. Lame ass pop musicians all do it. The only ones you hear about are the ones that get caught, but apparantly, Madonna, Britney, etc, etc, all use prerecorded tapes, because they need to concentrate on dancing.

Most musicians (not just pop) do it.. if they're not lip synching they're using auto tuners, so its not really a big deal. With the exception of jazz singers, 99% of singers use auto-tuners live and in the studio. (edit: I'm talking about famous artists here, not people playing in bars across the street, who sometimes use them too heh)

Most people pay to see their idol and for a fun show... not because the performer has a great voice (britney, madonna, n'sync, etc. aren't the greatest singers lol).
