  • What's this called in English..

    You know when you take a small flat rock, or a penny, and throw it onto a lake with flinging movement, and the rock bounces on the water? Anyone got a clue?

          How would you use that in a sentence? Like this:
          . The last thing you want when you’re thirsty is not being able to locate the water stream you were skipping in half an hour ago.???

                Yeah, we'd alway rock skipping or stone skipping as a term, and the act would be as mentioned, "skipping a stone" etc.
